ya also the "cool" people are usually 1) not being genuine and 2) are shallow af. they know how to copy and that's it. there is nothing fun, original, interesting, or intriguing about them. they all look the same, sound the same, like the same boring shit and have personalities that change with the trends. I don't know, everyone puts effort into how they are perceived and some people do so more effortlessly than others. Doesn't mean that you can never be cool, but it also doesnt always mean they're fake. I feel cool around a certain group of friends and nerdy around others. It's just another facet of human interactions. I guess what I'm trying to say is lumping every person that someone says they want to be like as fake sounds counterproductive and could veer into "not like the other girls" territory.

I agree with arabesque that people can be however they want to be, doesn't make them fake. Rachel is great because she's herself, she provides something ''cool" people may not because she's fun and creative and curious and doesn't take herself too seriously. Other people don't have to be 'fake' or 'bland' for this to to true! We don't have to put other people down to praise Rachel. There are many lanes on KZbin, people can provide different things and appeal to their audiences in different ways.

Oh darlin, I so know what you mean by NOT homesick but still wanting the feeling of home. Leaving that feeling and trying to make a new place feel like home is such a long process, and it takes me at least a year to get there. We moved last June and only within the last few months has our new house started to feel like home, and even then, not completely. It's almost like your house is a vessel for cozy and the cozy tends to trickle in slowly, but it will eventually be filled. I hope you find a wonderful new neighbor-free home with forests and garden space, maybe a creek in the back yard and a small orchard in the front. I move around a lot (my dads in the military) and sometimes I’ll lay in my bed or sit somewhere and just pretend I’m in a place we previously lived. When I moved into an apartment I struggled so hard with the same “I wanna go home (to my parents house)” feeling… but now I’ve shifted to feeling at home here, and I find myself thinking “I wanna go home to my apartment!” And now, whenever I feel that “I want to be home” feeling, I vocalize it to my husband as we’re driving home, and then we make a point to walk in the front door and immediately lay on the floor of the living room for a few minutes, before we set down our bags or put away our coats or anything, just to take in the feeling of being home… it’s one of my all-time favorite feelings :)

I used to get that homing pigeon “PING” and I had **exactly** that feeling the first few weeks in our new house (we had lived in our previous place for 15 years). We've lived in our current house for 15 years and when I think about our old house it still feels like "home". Like where I first made "my", space and it holds many precious memories even though we lived there like about three years.
