I actually used one of your paintings as a reference for a school project about warm colours your painting really cought my eye (the one with an orange cat sleeping on a chair), now months later, as i was looking for tips to see as to how i can paint cats better because i always wanted to be able to (cuz i love cats so much), here you are, it feels a bit unreal, i never would have expected to find you here, but your artworks are gorgeous and your skills are amazing. Grids - NO WAY JOSE 😢 Love the video. For those of us who work and don’t have a ton of time to paint, it’s really impossible to pay for a Patreon for any of you that have those. It would take me a long time to paint anything. I only see this in the watercolor painting community really, this everyone having a Patreon, the five dollars a month times a few people ends up getting expensive for those of us who can’t paint all the time. Maybe one day I get to retire and have extra money, and I can pay for a Patreon.

But Patreon is a lifesaver for someone like me who wants to make a living at painting and there is no other way to do it other than figuring out a way to make a liveable (barely) income spending my days painting instead of spending my days using my college degree.

For the greenish gold eyes I love Winsor Green Gold, a touch of permanent green light, sometimes a tiny bit of burnt sienna to tone the color down just a little. I am sure I'll do a cat's eyes videos sometime soon!

I love your tutorial! I found a video on photo shop that shows you how to change the opacity so that it makes an outline you can use without having to trace it by hand. It is in one of the 'help tutorials' from adobe (sorry don't remember link). I googled it: How do you automatically trace an image in Photoshop? Part 1 Setting Up the Image to Trace Open the image you want to trace in Photoshop. ... Click on Layer in the menu bar. Click on Duplicate Layer… and click on OK. ... Click on the duplicate layer in the "Layers" window. ... Click in the "Opacity:" field in the upper-right of the Layers window. Set the opacity to 50%

What do you mean by masking? Masking whiskers in particular..

Funny you should ask - I'm about to release a video about masking. If you look up masking fluid you'll find it. It's like a liquid plastic you paint on your white paper, let it dry, then it will protect the whites of the paper until you remove it near the end of the painting process. I use it a lot for whiskers.
