🌻 Thank you I agree with you about it never being perfect, just doing the best we can. May I add, also, without feeling guilty to live up to standards of what we see on social media. Btw I have the same concept for my tea cabinet. I wanted to look for a really nice tea organizer and I was about to donate a wooden organizer for utencils and my husband said, "Hey! You can use that just turn it to the side!" So I did and I love it! 🥰 Not sure if that's how you have it, it looks like, but if you do how awesome! 🤗

Rachel, if I may suggest - the best no nasties cleaner for the oven door is the same ash you take from your fireplace and an aluminium foil. Mix ash with a little water for easier application, smear it all over the glass and leave it for a few minutes, then just scrub it with a scrunched foil, works every time.👍

You accomplished so much house cleaning and now I need to get motivated and do my own. I find ironing to be very relaxing and I usually find myself just thinking about things going on or I play music and sing to myself. I love when you show us the animal population and I'd love to see your neighbor's horses. Hope your brother and the kids are doing well.

♡ just when you crossed my mind ♡ Watching this video, I wonder if you are happy? (Sorry if this is an inappropriate thing to say) Because for some people like me, keeping a home is a challenge. I even refrain on buying a big lot even if given the chance because I think, the maintenance would make me hate my life. Maybe with the right tools it wouldn't be so bad. They are just expensive ;p
@racheltalbott2 жыл бұрын
I enjoy outdoor chores more than indoor chores for sure. I really like to be outside when the weather is nice. I'm happy to care for my home though. Sure, there are times when it seems daunting, but I get that feeling about many things in life that are demanding/repetitive. I always dreamed of having a home to care for, and call my own. I grew up in a very small home, so I know I can be happy in many scenarios. I try my best to take a balanced approach, and make time for other things I enjoy: time with family, traveling, music, creativity, self-care, and some free time. It is a lot of upkeep, and I wouldn't mind downsizing the size of our home in the future if that's what we decide, but I think I'd always love land, and a big garden. Unless I was physically unable to keep up with it, outdoor space is such a blessing, and I personally enjoy it so much.

Hello from Denver! I love seeing how others keep their home, and watch these kinds of videos while I clean too. It is not my strong suit, but now that my kiddos are older and in school, it's definitely a bit easier. :) Thanks for the inspiration! ❤

I feel that too! My routine last year was focused mostly around our schedule with the kids schooling at home. I didn't have as much time as I do now during the school hours. It's a nice chunk of time to focus and get things done.

@@racheltalbott couldn't agree more with Mindy's comment.. I find cleaning the house very monotonous and boring sometimes and once you let it slip it just adds up and then to do a reset is so hard.. But seeing your videos and watch others work hard really motivates me to keep up with my house and work hard.. Even after all this it's never perfect but I've learnt to live with that

You made me laugh with the flies story: I live in the north-east of Italy, near a very small green area and it's exactly the same! At the end of every spring and summer I have to pick up the fallen XD I have stopped ironing almost 10 years ago: I have two very ill parents and the house to take care of, while finishing my studies and dealing with a genetic disease in my muscles...ironing was too much. I found that if you fold and smooth the creases and wrinkles when the clothes are warm, either from the dryer or from hanging outside, you have almost zero problems; of course, there are some fabrics or garments you must do something about and I usually go for a small steamer we have, it's cheap, shaped like an iron but works wonders :)

What brand is your sofa? It is so difficult to find one with seat covers that can be washed and look decent. And what is the brand of the black kitchen glove you used? Hardware store find? I hate how fast the regular kitchen gloves break.
@racheltalbott2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The sofa was a custom build, and the store closed down during covid =( It was a tricky one to find, because I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg, but I wanted something like this. The gloves are an amazon find. Here's a link: amzn.to/3K1hAh2

Do you have any recs for really clean/non toxic candles safe for babies/pets?
@Shirumoon2 жыл бұрын
Are you looking for scented candles? That might be hard to find. Otherwise, what comes to mind are just plain beeswax candles. If you get ones of high quality, they even smell a little like honey. Soy or rapeseed candles might work too but I'm not 100% sure if they are fine when you have pets.

Rachel I LOVE your videos I've been watching you for years and they bring me so much peace, motivation and calm. Baking Soda is a chemical. Please stop saying "I'm trying to stay away from chemicals." Water is made of chemical elements. Chemicals=/=BAD or UNHEALTHY. PLEASE change your buzz words to "unhealthy ingredients" because it can be very misleading.
@racheltalbott2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Ahhh yes, very true. In this video I was referring to harsh chemicals, but I could have been more clear in my verbiage for sure. I will keep that in mind for future videos. =)
@telaraday87432 жыл бұрын
@@racheltalbott I understand!!! And I think most people, If not all, understand what you meant this time. But its so so important we understand that "natural" doesn't always mean good and "chemical" doesn't always mean bad. It's so important because a lot of companies are preying on consumers with those buzz words and a lot of products still contain harsh ingredients that are bad for the skin and body and life because they are still "natural and organic" ingredients. It's so important to be informed of what ingredients you are using and how they react to other ingredients, not just trust a product because its "natural." But maybe I overreacted just a tad here, because you were comparing the use and ingredients of baking soda to barkeepers friend 🤣 I'm just so passionate about this!
