So 2 things: first, they actually make filtered shower heads that soften hard water. I lived in an apartment with super hard water for years, and obviously you can't install a water softener in an apartment. But my hair was suffering. So I got a filtered showerhead. Worked wonders. I noticed a clear difference. I moved, so I no longer have to use it, but it was great. Second, I think you have to run water through the faucet filter before using it. That or it wasnt on tight enough. I've had one for years (different brand) and you notice a difference in the taste of the water. As a single female, I did have to figure out how to install it myself lol

Hey, I'm having the same issue you had with living in an apartment with hard water. Since there seems to be sooo many water softening showedheads that doesn't really work I was wondering if you'd like to share which brand and model you were using? I'd really appreciate the info, thank you in advance!
@CrochetingWithMaia Жыл бұрын
@@Nyxgazer I think it was a Culligan. I remember choosing that one because it was a big name brand at the time. I'm not sure about model. It was several years ago though, so there are probably updated models now. It worked beautifully, but I do remember installing it was a pain.

I’ve been curious about the Jolie shower head. I’ve seen it advertised quite a bit and my sister in law actually just got one but she hasn’t had it long enough to know if she likes it…I don’t really get that lol but I’m definitely going to get something soon bc the hard water here in Southern California is sooo hard.

I was about to post a comment about hard water that it has nothing to do with your pipes or anything has to do with your water company and the area you live in. I live in a house and we have the hard water issue and you are right about filters cuz we use filters for everything well practically everything but I never thought about using it for the showers or maybe also use it for my washing machine? Thanks for the advice!

Daiso Japan sells a bath towel back scrubber that’s only a couple dollars . It exfoliates well, it’s thin but durable, and it drys completely quickly. It’s a life saver! They also sell a pumice stone that melts away as you use it but it works wonders. I think a Daiso product testing show would be amazing. The store is half jems half junk.

I think, for the color stick, you may get a better payout if you had someone else hold the hair extensions. If you were putting it on your hair, you’d be able to use one hand to hold the hair out and in tension as the other moves the wand along that hair. When you were trying it, the hair probably had too much movement to really help the product stick.

I have baby fine, straight thin hair and actually find it does better when using hard water. I will use a product to remove buildup once every other week or 10 days, I also use dry shampoo. I find with water softeners, it droops, won't curl and takes forever to feel like you get the soap off.

I absolutely loved to see that you were using a MAC product and then I was even more excited to see how many people in the comments knew about it and had tried it!! I worked for MAC for nearly 15 yrs and spent majority of that time as a trainer for the brand. I haven’t worked for them in quite a while but I’ll have such a soft spot for them in my heart. Play around with that Squirt gloss because you can discover a lot of really nice combos. It really looks like honey on the lips and cuts any reddish or overly pink hue that you might not want. Green and red are complimentary colors so when place next to each other they will enhance but on top of each other they will neutralize or cancel the other out. Have fun with it! ❤

For the MAC lip product - I saw on TT from a MUA that the vibrant colors are actually great to color correct so if you have an orange lip that you love, you can use the blue to create a perfect nude, and it looked soooo good when he did it.

Electric water softeners are a thing too if you don’t want to have to constantly buy salt for your water softener. We live on well water which is a spring water and it tastes sooo good but it’s also super hard. So we bought an electric water softener, it charges the water in the pipes so the hard water particularly don’t build up as fast on the taps etc. I noticed a difference with my hair too.

for the best shower exfoliation, look up the SALUX japanese wash cloth. you can get as much of a scrub as you want and it's easily manuverable, can easily get around your back, foldable for small areas, you can even scrunch it to get like a loofah effect, and a small bit of soap gets SUPER foamy because you can really rub it in the cloth. and when you're done you can rinse the whole thing completely clean and it dries quickly. Changed my life and I can't go back.

I really dislike when influencers don't read instructions or look more into a product. Like the mac lip gloss stick, they have way more colors than just green and it probably tells you just to use a small amount. And if it doesnt why wouldnt you watch someone else use it that knows how to. It isnt cute or quirky when someone doesnt use something right because they are too lazy to actually read directions

As someone who has dyed their hair interesting colours many many times, it definitely needs a few times to get the colour. It's not going to damage your hair it will wash out pretty much the first time you wash your hair. However it can stain your clothes and your shower if you miss any in cleaning after. I wouldn't use it on synthetic hair wigs.

If you really want your hair to curl buy foam rollers in a large size and put them in with damp hair. If they turn out too curly hit the curls with your blow dryer a few seconds at a time. I use them after every wash and the curls stay in until I wash my hair. I have hair past my shoulders and don’t roll them too tight. I love not using heat and all I have to do is brush my hair when I wake up each day. (I only wash my hair about once a week). My hair is naturally frizzy and this helps so much!

as a straight fine haired girly- the only way i can get my hair to hold curls is to use lots of products!!! before "curling' and after. If i dont prep my hair with products before i curl it, and then use a good holding spray, it will not hold a curl AT all. I also get better results if i do overnight curls (so my hair can "set") versus just using a curling iron.

For the faucet filter, did you take the plastic sleeve off the filter inside the filter cannister? Also, most filters now days will make your water softer. They filter out heavy metals and chemicals. That's what makes your water hard. They just don't do it as effectively as water softeners that use salt to bind with the heavy metals or reverse osmosis systems. My really high rated (water volume softened per minute) was 600 bucks from a plumping parts house and my husband installed it. Just get someone who's good with plumbing. It would be even easier if you already have one and are just replacing it too. Also, might be under warranty.

Filters that go on the tap will eventually ruin your tap/plumbing anyway because of the extra pressure. For drinking filters you’re much better to get a jug situation.
