So much melancholy and pain in this piece. Technically it is simple but musically as with Rachmaninoff, is always filled with emotional challenges.

I love this and play it often but always with a tear in my eye. So very profound. Rach touches the soul for me, the same with Mahler. Incredible ❤

Crazy this only has 12k views while Mozart’s pieces get millions.

Thanks... interesting observation. My first response is to guess that Mozart's piano music is, by and large, far more accessible, easier to digest if you will, far easier for the untutored ear to "like" and "enjoy" on a first hearing. With some obvious exceptions, it does not require much introspection or expenditure of intellectual energy... again, generally speaking. This is NOT to say that just because it was composed in accordance with the strict harmonic standards of the classical era that Mozart's music is not complex, sophisticated, and highly influential. What do you think? Regards

I agree with your point of view. For me personally Rachmaninoff'music is far above than Mozart's because it has much more depth and this is just a true work of a genius. It is a shame that he and also this piece is so underapprecciated

Wonderful and insightful commentary as always Klaus. As I get older, I gravitate to two composers - Bach and Rach. :)
