Another Rachmaninoff song transcribed for piano by Earl Wild. I shortened the transcription roughly in half to match the length of the original song. The fancy flourish at the end is a pure Wild invention, but I think it works well here.
Score: www.ivoryclassi...
Piano: Kawai Novus NV10
Piano VST: Garritan CFX Full

I don’t understand how this digital hybrid can sound this good
@PancakePvP

Sound doesn't have much to do with the digital hybrid, you're hearing a piano VST called Garritan CFX which can be played with any keyboard with MIDI

Hello, Im using your exact settings of Garritan, however it doesnt sound as good as yours. One particular issue is the default volume without any adjustments/plugins is significantly low. I read one of your replies on another video and you said you did nothing but increasing the overall volume post-recording. Do you use any special programme/plugins to do it? Thanks! I use Logic Pro X as my DAW.

Hi, I use the amplify function in the free software Audacity to boost the volume.

@@rach3master Ah okay, I guess it works in the same way as LPX, but I'll give it a shot in my next video. I had to boost the master volume in LPX and slightly increase the slider under the LIMIT button in GCFX. So, no tweaking to other GCFX settings? Because your piano sounds well-articulated, sharp and bright (maybe not too precise in terms of music, as I do not know any music theory, and English is not my native language), while mine is a bit "veiled", I think. Another reason, which very well might be in this case, is that you use a separate soundcard (?) as a medium, while I just record the audio on my piano, then copy it to my USB and transfer it to my laptop.

I am a fan of your playing, congratulations on such a wonderful talent that you have. You really inspired me. I just got a Yamaha N1X and I was wondering if you can tell me what do I need to get to use the VST or is it VSL . I would like my piano to sound like yours.

Hi! Do you like the N1 better or the NV10? Which one has a better action? Thank you so much!

Hi! I'm a pianist and piano teacher, and I just found your channel the other day. I have to say I'm astounded at your playing and recordings - they are absolute perfection. I'm looking into adding a Yamaha N1X and Garritan to my studio. Would you be able to tell me the specs of the computer you're running this on, please?

Thanks! I have a custom-built computer, but any modern computer should be able to handle it if you have a good sound card.

If you're using CFX, why not just get a VPC1 or something and save about $9,000. I'm just wondering if this thing is worth it.

The superior action is helpful if you're playing very advanced repertoire.

Action is everything. If you play difficult classic pieces like Liszt, Chopin, Rach etc, you can’t make proper sound with poor action.

Can I hear that magnificent sound through piano’s speakers by using VST? Or I can use it only for recording? I’m so confused of the use of VST.
