awesome. I am doing same since 6 years. tried other method, but celibate work well and easy to manage. just perch and all done :) I believe pigeons are self motivated they don't need nest always.

They also have a stronger resistence .You practicly never have a sick hen ,plus they don't fight in the baskets .

Great points. Hens stay calm on the truck and save energy and seem smarter than the cocks which is hard to admit. lol

My hens are never with cock birds. I let the hens sit on the eggs and race them on eggs but the eggs are not fertile.

Hello Frank! I watched some of your videos and I was intrigued by your way of guiding pigeons. Did I understand correctly that you don't pair pigeons at all before the racing season? And what does the arrival of females from the flight look like - are males waiting for them? Greetings from Poland ...
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons Жыл бұрын
I do not pair the pigeons before the race season. The celibate hens come home to the perch and there is never any cocks waiting for them. All this motivation stuff is a big waste of time. The celibate hens totally dominate the widowhood cocks from start to finish at all distances. Just an amazing system. After the race season I let them mate and sit eggs and sometimes raise babies. This year my celibate hens are raising babies right now after the race season.
@TungNguyen-mu9ee
@TungNguyen-mu9ee Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Do you have the hens raised babies for 1 round or just let them laid eggs with her mate cocks then separated the hens & the cocks to race the celebrated hens system? Thanks
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons Жыл бұрын
Hi Tung, I do not pair the pigeons before the season. I feel pairing will not hurt and maybe even help but I just got right into the season without mating them. I keep things super simple for me. I do let them sit a round of eggs with the cocks after the season.
@TungNguyen-mu9ee
@TungNguyen-mu9ee Жыл бұрын
@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons Thanks Frank. That’s something I have not think of. My though was the birds/hens were motivated by setting up best mate/eggs/babies precondition before the season. So you race your celebrated hens up to 500 and 600 miles too? So, what I get from your celebrated hens racing method is simple, easy to race them. Second,the celebrate hens just focus their energy to racing, not not even to lay eggs nor raising babies.

Hello sir, about the barley mix, here in Philippines barley seed is expensive than breeding mix and racing mix, can i use 50/50 instead of 80/20? Mix?
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons Жыл бұрын
50% barley is certainly much better than 100% of the regular racing mix. 50% barley should be a big improvement for you for buoyancy and racing.
