I went back east from socal high desert a year and a half ago . I was riding in eastern Jersey and Virginia and it was crazy how twisty turny the trails were . Had a difficult time building some speed . Definitely improved my cornering but I could not get close to the local guys speed who ride those trails all the time . I guess they try to get as much trail in a given space as it is probably limited . This seems to be similar for this set of trails in this race . Doing that type of twisty turny riding for 3 hours is impressive .I also felt a bit closed in being in the forest so my rides felt longer than they were compared to the open space of the desert .

I think it was that part @13:29 that was the only part of the course that I had to dismount. Really fun race and great meeting up with you and Dawson!

After Project DC it'd be cool to maybe do the same test with a trail oriented hardtail like a Yeti Arc. Or even build up an alloy frame that has trail geometry like a Honzo or something with super light components. I don't know... just a thought. Great race!

Many years ago I did time trail test with a hard tail and full suspension. I always felt faster in the Hardtail but the stopwatch proved otherwise. I even had a very light weight Niner air nine carbon that I sold for the RKT9. I think it’s my riding style that makes me faster on full suspension. We have lots of roots and being able to sit and pedal over those is very beneficial.

Amazing how stable the footage being mounted on the handlebar. Do you have a special mounting to help with stability. As always great video and do not hesitate to reach out if you ever need a 4th again. Only 5.5hrs away...lol Keep Shred'n !!

It’s the stabilization of the Hero 11. It’s also many years of screwing up camera settings and finding out what works.
