If I were to make a long trip, several weeks, with both on and offroad, I would definitely take the Suzuki. Comfort of the seat, better suspension, reliable, like the other two! The T7 has a higher center of gravity, and if you are alone, it makes a difference. For just on road touring, definitely the Honda.

Congret's for the great comparative! Jump to conclusions : Honda great all around - er like the old ones. Keep the name legacy. Great bike.Does everything. But likes more on asfalt because torque come from the end off the rew's. Can go anytime off-road if needed. Tenere, like the name, ready for off-road, own the desert and wildest road, free for the horizon.Never get lost, always come home from the wilderness. V-strom come with new package, but a complete one, low torque, good suspension, can conquer anything you put in front of the wheels, tarmak or dusty road. Good heritage, it seams to be the winner of the mix worlds, beside it's weight and power, big 20 liter tank helps.

Thanks guys..good stuff as always. I'm slowly looking for an eventual replacement for my KTM 990 and I need something that can go from big single track to long distance highway cruising so the DE is on my short list. Good good to hear more info about it. Thanks. Your opening got me thinking of something we teach and I thought I'd mention it for the benefit of new ADV riders. When picking up these kinds bikes, especially if they have full fuel and any luggage on them, just a few degrees of slope can make a big difference when lifting them. If it is apparent that the tires are a bit uphill, you will work much, much harder. For context, and this varies based on CG and such, but just a tiny 3 degree incline on a 500lb bike increases the required lifting force by ~26 lbs (and few people even detect slope less than 5 degrees or 43lbs) Depending on the situation, people might benefit from spinning the bike and getting the wheels down hill (or just the rear wheel). As much of a hassle as that sounds, and especially if it is a big slope, it is your only option. I've watched many students struggle and give up, only to then show them how to pull the front wheel around and get the bike up. Thinking through a lift on a big bike is important as is practice. Thanks for all the good content over the years....leaving for Italy tomorrow to spend some time on my GS over there so watching you guys always gets me pumped.

I maybe over thinking this, but surely the first bike to pick up will be the easiest compared to the second and third and won’t having the bikes lying down a slope (honda was up hill) make it even harder to pick up. The Yamaha has about 10kg’s of extra weight added with crash bars, rear rack, bash plate etc.

T7= Best off-road Transalp- Best on the road V-strom- Great all-rounder T7 sounds the best IMO and has great aesthetics, it's also the cheapest. It's one of meanest sounding bike motors I've heard with it's guttural blip. They all dropped the ball on cruise control. Tuareg 660 is probably better than the T7 with its low center of gravity. I couldn't find a Tuareg 660 locally when I was in the market and went with a used T7 which was still hard to find at the time.

How did suzuki make the 800 weight more than a Africa twin 1100, did they fill the frame with concrete?
@paulnorman8274
@paulnorman8274 Жыл бұрын
Vs the other two here: More fuel, for one.... Longer travel suspension. Bolt on subframe, which is probably more 2up/luggage/touring ready. Better, plusher, seat. Vs ATwin...: Harder to figure out. But the Hondas Unicam engines are light for capacity.The ATwin is also a good bit pricier, so may have some more exotic materials, "fancier" components and more extensive machining. The Suzuki has a long stroke engine with two counterbalancers. Suzuki did not do THAT, because they prioritised weight savings.... It also has the airbox under the seat, in order to fit a larger tank without getting too wide. Again, with the additional plumbing, not done to save weight. Suzuki obviously focused on building a great Adventure Tourer. The way those are, outside of comparison tests, used by actual buyers, is with fairly heavy luggage, and often 2up. Once you fill up panniers and a top box, "weight" starts to matter a lot less than weight distribution and COG. Both areas in which the Suzuki shines. Philosophically, the Suzuki is more like Yamaha's Super Tenere, than it is the lighter, sportier, more offload'y, more "fun" Tenere. The S10 is even more extreme wrt ultralow and forward COG than the 'Strom, for a tall riding ADV bike. Which makes sense, since no bike is going to see much technical offroad, when carrying 40kgs of luggage and a pillion. Instead, what then takes priority, is a low COG, preferably more forward to balance out all the passenger and luggage weight high up and back. And, since gravel road is really the most realistic "offroad" you'll see, focusing on optimising the electronics for gravel also becomes important. As for the Transalp: If you live in a city and commute: It feels about half as wide as the Suzuki. And takes the excellent capacity/width bags from the NC750. It is also narrower at the seat front, hence easier to paddle and park in tight spots. It's just a better city bike, as well as a better "sports bike", which can also serve OK as a sport tourer/adv tourer. The Suzuki is just more narrowly focused on Adv Touring excellence.

Maybe the Suzuki felt the lightest because it was the first to lift before getting tired. Would be interesting on a completely flat ground (this one seemed a bit sloped with the Tenere having the wheels up the slope, which makes it feel even heavier) to lift Tenere first and V-Strom last. After all, V-Strom is 25 kilos heavier than the Tenere. Still, Suzuki and Honda were stock while the Tenere had more than an additional 10kg above stock with the crash bars (low+high) and a bash plate.

AT LEAST 11k for a 2020 model with 20000km. Also, the Suzuki really feels lighter cause the weight is down low, seems a BMW GS in that regard. The fuel consumption is also much lower, I calculated you save 2000€ over a 30000km lifespan. Suzuki was a no brainer.

Weight doesn't matter so much at a low center of gravity. My 1800 goldwing was easier for me to lift than my KLR650.

Let's say something... the tyres on those bikes are completely different. The Tenere 700 has better off road tyres than the other two, someone said that he didn't feel much confidence on the Suzuki off road, but it has clearly on road tyres, so with off road tyres it can be much better. What do you think about? Thanks for the video, interesting!

Thanks for the review. Could you please tell me which one you'd pick out of the Transalp and the F750GS if you were going to do ZERO off-roading and be using it mostly on country roads which are not super smooth and 1st class with the occasional interstate highway road trip. Perhaps you can include your 2nd fave choice as a bonus. This is important for me becuase I'm having a super hard time deciding. Thanks a bunch.

Would you justify world raid 2k euros (here in Europe) higher price than standard 2023 T7? I mean...You can get and mount a LOT of goodies for 2k euros :) Im in a market for a Tenere, but cannot decide between Standard T7, World Rally and WOrld Raid... Standard T7---11500E Rally Edition---13000 World Raid---13400 There is also an option for World Rally but at 15000E price tag its just a hard pass tho.... Would appritiate any input. :D

Or you definetly not buy either of them, and save your money 🙂 think about it twice! The Honda couple of hundreds of euros cheaper, the Vstrom 2-300€ more, but you get rider aids, QS, TC, better suspension, better fuel range, comfortable seats etc. In this price category the Yamaha out of question for me!

Picking a bike for yourself to ride is purely subjective. These "battle" videos are a waste of time. Just three guys' opinions that they seem to think are so important, they have to post a video about it. Go ride them yourself, then make the decision.

When bikes are around the same weight as these three it is so irrelevant to point the finger at ‘one’ to say it’s the ‘heaviest’, once you’ve added ‘crash bars’, luggage, a pillion etc it’s going to change the weight characteristics of all of these. What’s more important is the Suzuki and the Honda have very little ground clearance, where as the Yamaha has plenty of ground clearance to do serious ‘off road’ riding. The Suzuki and the Honda are ‘road bikes’ dressed up to look like ‘Dual Sport’ bikes.
