The bass levels is too low, to make it sound realistic - even though, the stereo effect is really nice.

Yeah it is, I've boosted the bass in my recent binaural videos.

Nice. What microphones do you use? Omnidirectional ones? (wich is what's typically used for binarual recordings). You can try to get an external sound recorder (wich you can get quite cheap). Because other than the bass, the sound was quite nice. Many cameras have really poor audio circuits that filters out bass and have a high noise floor.

Its a stand-alone microphone called the 3Dio Freespace, which records to a Zoom H1.

Ok, I couldn't find any info about type of microphone capsules used more than "professional binarual microphones". The term professional when it comes to audio isn't really what it should be. That recorder is good, so it isn't the problem. I have built my own microphones using panasonic WM61 capsules - but if you want to do that your self, you have to build your own preamp since it requires special powering and a high impedance micrphone input (i can help with some info). A great thing would probably be to keep your artificial ears and then just replace the microphone capsule inside them with a WM61 :) But if it works to just boost the bass (without getting noise problems) - it might be an easier solution.
