Shaquille is the most amazing sprinter I have ever seen in 60 years of following horse racing. He is such a phenomenon, that he can afford to give the opposition a start and still power past them in two top sprints this season. Who knows what he is capable of in the remainder of the season. As for City of Troy; yes he was visually impressive, but it is those behind him we should be looking at. If those who finished behind City of Troy go on to frank the form in future races, then we will know that the form is really solid. Personally though, I certainly wouldn't be backing him with 10 months until the 2000 Guineas.

What impressed me about Shaquille was still being able to pull away at the finish after making rapid headway pulling to the front after 2 or 3 furlongs.

what is the reason he jumps at the start?Nerves or just the sound of the opening gates?How would that be dealt with by the trainers?

Shaquille is certainly a much better horse than Caravaggio who was 4th to Harry Angel in the July cup and Caravaggio was also beaten by Brando in another race, and neither of those two horses are as good as Shaquille.

Your comment shows me you are still wet behind the ears regarding horseracing by stating Mozart and Caravaggio are the two best sprinters of the last 25 years. Battash was superior to both of those horses you mentioned and I would put Harry Angel, Muhaarar, Blue Point, Sole Power and Oasis Dream in front of them also. Black Caviar, Haylist, Redzel, Lankin Rupee, Nature Strip, Chautauqua, Star SpangleBanner, Miss Andretti, Apache Cat, TakeOver Target, Lord Kanaloa, Sacred Kingdom and Silent Witness were far superior sprinters.

There is absolutely no doubt that Caravaggio was a better horse than Shaquille at this stage of Shaquille's career.
