I love this interview. Im s stanch conservative. I remember the Evergreen disaster in Oregon. I thought why would anyone except these teachings. I remember this teacher and what he went through. Love to listen to him know. One thing. When he speaks about perception of different people cultures how they think and who they are. We gave China that benefit. And look what has happened to America. Hoist with his own petard. The problem is not as he says. The problem is that these students are not succeeding and they blame other people for that. As Thomas Sowell says, because of affirmative action they are not academically qualified to be where they are so doomed to fail. Non academic subjects have been created so that they cannot fail but they know that they are being pandered to and can’t resist taking advantage of the power that gives them.

Not really, he's only rational enough to see the absurdities of 'wokeness', but not rational enough to see Trump is not an existential threat, The Trump Republican party IS the third option, he's turning the Republicans into what they should be and slowly removing the Neocons in the party, who were the biggest threat. Trumpism is truly progressive.
@FizzVizard

@@reginaldgraves1684 Its not just affirmative action that is the problem, although it doesn't help, young people, especially in higher education, have had their naturally rebellious nature taken advantage of for decades, it's easy for unscrupulous people to appeal to their egos and tell them they're special, wiser than their parents, ancestors and the uneducated masses, then they teach them about the so called 'great thinkers' of the past, The enlightenment, philosophy, Marxism, Anarchism, Sociology, evolutionary theory, etc, but not to think critically about them, religion and empire building are however always seen in a negative light. Young minds are easily moulded, nobody suddenly becomes an anarchist in middle age!

The shocking thing is about “intellectual content” which I would gloss as “other people’s unfamiliar ideas” is how EASY it is to do. It is a lost journalistic skill. I could do it. You could do it. Anybody could do it. Stacey Dooley does it too. I know nothing much about plumbing. I could interview a plumber and find out about it by listening in the right spirit and staying the Hell away from rhetorical questions and sticking to real ones. Socratic method see? I agree. People don't seem to realise that there is only Rupert Murdoch who is standing up to what's going on. All other mainstream Media have been cowed into submission. The Daily Mail, LBC radio to name just two that were centre Right and a bastion of free speech. After the Brexit vote the rich & powerful who are orchestrating what's happening, leaned on them & they obeyed. The Daily Mail is now a left wing Remainer paper along with LBC who now have all Left wing presenters (two from the BBC) Only Nick Ferarri is still there. Nigel Farage was levered out a few weeks ago. Rupert Murdoch took advantage of this and brought in excellent presenters to Talk Radio (some from LBC) which is now the fastest growing radio station. Because it's the only center Right radio station. It's why the Left have always tried to get rid of Murdoch. Thank goodness he's still doing such a great job. Too many people have swallowed the nonsense the Left have spouted about The Sun. Now people are realising the truth about the paper.

I largely agree. To my progressive fellow citizens, consider asking and answering this question, “What is it that conservatives want to conserve?” The answer is, “Conservatives want to preserve the classical liberal values expressed by the Declaration of Independence and instituted in the structure of our government thru the US Constitution.” Now, conservatives are human and thus, they are as imperfect as people of any other ideology... thus explaining when we have erred. However, the core goal is as stated above. That explains why progressives and conservatives agree with Bret. My disagreement with Bret is based on his statements implying that our form of government isn’t up to the challenge. He continually makes references to the founders having no possible way to understand today’s issues. While that is true, the founders knew that... and made the amendment of our Constitution possible. However, they still believed - and I agree - that most decisions should be made by state governments, not the federal government (i.e. Why on earth make a FEDERAL minimum wage... given the cost of living differences between California and Mississippi?).

If "they" can change the meanings of words, why can't we? Or, create a new word that succinctly describes changing definitions of words for ideological purposes. "NewWord" - to change the definition of words, such as racism, in attempt to justify one's own ideological view/policy/political view Or! Amend an existing word!: "DESPERATE" - 2. to change the definition of words, such as "racism", in attempt to justify one's own depraved ideological deviancy

I tend to agree with some others here. The very extreme left governments of the west find these people useful. I rather feel that, should they overturn civilization and "win", that they have no intention of allowing these "2+2= ?" anti-science folks to rule. Like Yuri Bezmenov said, they are "useful idiots" and will be largely eradicated if they succeed. They're just a means to an end. That being said, The Father is the one in control, no matter how things may seem. Your hope is in Christ alone.

Except with overtly racial tones. Went to a peaceful gathering about educating people about different propositions on the upcoming ballot. Saw a table with lots of revolutionist literature and wanted to check it out. The group that set up the table was a white socialist organization called uhuru solidarity movement - a sub group of the black socialists of America. They didnt even know me or my beliefs and asked me to become a board member for their new chapter b/c they needed more white people. I went to this event with a woke friend and they felt so uncomfortable by an all white group that they finally saw criticisms of these race-based woke groups. The DSA literally made a caucus for minorities that white people couldn't join just to get more non-white members... i just don't understand how dividing people by race will result in less racism... The scary part is that it's getting indoctrinated into our institutions. I took a contemporary art history class over summer and the course ended with a link to das capital by Karl marx. While it was absolutely fascinating to get to read about, I'm still trying to understand why an art history class was teaching economics.

I absolutely abhor being labelled 'white'. I abhor how people are divided into categories for malevolent or ignorant purposes. I can appreciate people using the 'black lives matter' banner for the purpose intended, but not to be dismissed by organizations like 'Get Up' - who will not post my information on human rights, because they deem that all other discrimination is not as important as 'black lives matter'. The discriminations I see are inclusive of many 'categories' in my particular region. These include Indigenous [First Nations] people, older people, people with disabilities and chronic illness and others who are having problems accessing their needs - because now they need to be able to drive - whereas 50 years ago, there was more suitable public transport [with toilets, water etc.] back then, and now rail is the most usable for people using wheelchairs or bicycles. My friends in the seventies, who protested for various liberties such as the right to protest around the seventies also abhor the ageist prejudice calling them 'boomers', as if they were conservatives, or of an opposing mind-frame to younger people. [An example of ageism for me was when I explained that 'socialism' means so many different things to different people, that we should be using more descriptive terms for what we are talking about. He said, "YOUNG people are comfortable with the term, 'socialism'. People are having such 'cognitive dissonance' or ignorance over sociological issues, they fail to see how divisive they have become. This I saw in how the Greens were protesting, but not explaining in the media to everyone - what pragmatic alternatives they have in mind [to coal etc.]. In Australia, it got to a 'Green against Green' situation - that was hushed up, as some Greens thought ripping up the railway for bicycle paths was OK, while we increase carbon emissions and human rights abrogation with forcing people to be on roadways. One Australian state, New South Wales, is so Orwellian, it has a department called, "Transport for the Future" - with a minister who talks of 'divesting' all of the state's transport infrastructure. putting it in the hands of private companies - only interested in making a profit. Their is a clear suppression of hearing individual concerns. From inside the Greens, I was even censored, and not permitted to write in a Greens-based local newspaper, or limited to seven hundred words. which can't do any justice to complex issues. Mainstream media totally leaves out local human rights concerns. Only the loudest are heard, while agencies suppress the concerns of their clients, in the area of public transport and many other facts such as our high rates of problems in mental health, and dying from not getting proper care that those in large cities have. There are railway lines between where I stay because of Covid 'lockdowns' - away from my family and belongings - and home just over a state border. If I return home, I will not be permitted back to where I get specialist medical appointments, and easier access to all things. My home town in New South Wales has always had ZERO Covid infections, but the state of Queensland treats all of NSW the same, as does NSW. 70% of residents in the northern regions of NSW voted in a 1967 referendum to secede from NSW. The then state premier pretended to support this, but insisted that Newcastle [closer to Sydney] be included. The more southern regions voted against the secession. We need to be independent from two fascistic-like states, and negotiate with the capital of Queensland, Brisbane - as our close large city where we should have access to. Covid-19 has highlighted our predicament, but media is too obsessed with what our politicians are filling up the media with. We may even need to be vaccinated to go outside our house - the way things are going. This may be the only place that I can get people to listen. The humanitarians in my area that I wish to contact - are either dead or made uncontactable. I cannot even trust that this comment is seen by those who may support us. Human rights are human rights - wherever they are on the globe. If our locals are so dysfunctional, [90% of people I know of in the region these days have borderline personality disorder - and will see me as a competitor, and not include me when dealing with organisations etc.], I must find people who are more able to discuss issues with. It seems there are much more possibilities in the large cities - but talking on the Internet, won't work. Only face-to-face works, if we get privacy away from our mobile phones listening in. China is not the only place where we are all under surveillance.

Yes, the "Unity 2020 Plan" is utterly absurd for 2020 & isn't a practical way to pursue political goals. I say this as an attorney and a former Bloomberg staffer (the NYC mayor & presidential candidate). Brett should distill his ideas into practicable proposals that are consistent with the US Constitution. US law & government are complex & after nearly 300 years of structuring these systems, you can't just come up with your way of running the country where 2 people 'govern as a team.' There are defined political roles & obligations in the federal government. We have a system of checks & balances between the branches of government that works very well, despite his momentary frustrations with the candidates in the 2020 election. The whole "Unity 2020 Plan" just shows that Brett is sadly ignorant of politics and law, which is fine, but it is a waste of his time & intellect. He has much to offer the world, & his time would be best spent attempting to develop ideas in evolutionary biology or related fields that benefit from his knowledge & experience.

I'm a Conservative, America First person. Bret Weinstein needs to be heard! Tulsi Gabbard is courageous. Ben Crenshaw does not have much courage.

I like Bret. However I think he is part of the problem. He and his peers have unintentionally created the situation we are now in.

It wasn't unintentional. Maybe Brett wasn't in on the goal. The communists started infiltrating higher education 50 years ago and it is now coming to fruition. This is no accident.

While he might of BEEN part of the problem, I believe he has realized where his past “group think” is now headed. His heart is good and is, and has been, well intentioned but the mentality has been high jacked. I consider myself a fair minded conservative and appreciate Brett’s logic and thought processes even when I may not always agree on some of his overall philosophies. Either way I have way way more in common with him then differences.

JP Swanson I agree with you ... I think scientists need to be more weary moving forward sharing potentially dangerous ideas... 2015 a science paper said coronavirus shows a high potential for human transmission...

JP Swanson interesting point. I would argue that he is exactly the type of progressive that we need. I don’t consider myself a conservative or a progressive but understand the value in each. To much progressivism things get chaotic, to much conservatism things get stultified. The problem now is that the progressive movement has been hijacked by BLM and antifa and progressives are to cowardly to stop them. Bret is no coward!!!

The reason wokeism gained popularity the last 20 years is basically that people have gotten softer (mainly from parental overcoddling and being spoiled by technology), so they lack the competency & drive to be successful in a system that requires competency and hard work.They resent the system, and feel victimized by it.

The problem is, if that ticket wins 4 years, then switches and wins another 4 years. Then they do it again for 4 years and 4 years. Is that 16 years of power... Same goes with term limits that needs to be places on Congress and I feel the Supreme Court. To long in power always corrupts...
