Hoist with his own petard. The problem is not as he says. The problem is that these students are not succeeding and they blame other people for that. As Thomas Sowell says, because of affirmative action they are not academically qualified to be where they are so doomed to fail. Non academic subjects have been created so that they cannot fail but they know that they are being pandered to and can’t resist taking advantage of the power that gives them.

Not really, he's only rational enough to see the absurdities of 'wokeness', but not rational enough to see Trump is not an existential threat, The Trump Republican party IS the third option, he's turning the Republicans into what they should be and slowly removing the Neocons in the party, who were the biggest threat. Trumpism is truly progressive.
@FizzVizard4 жыл бұрын
@@reginaldgraves1684 Its not just affirmative action that is the problem, although it doesn't help, young people, especially in higher education, have had their naturally rebellious nature taken advantage of for decades, it's easy for unscrupulous people to appeal to their egos and tell them they're special, wiser than their parents, ancestors and the uneducated masses, then they teach them about the so called 'great thinkers' of the past, The enlightenment, philosophy, Marxism, Anarchism, Sociology, evolutionary theory, etc, but not to think critically about them, religion and empire building are however always seen in a negative light. I agree. People don't seem to realise that there is only Rupert Murdoch who is standing up to what's going on. All other mainstream Media have been cowed into submission. The Daily Mail, LBC radio to name just two that were centre Right and a bastion of free speech. After the Brexit vote the rich & powerful who are orchestrating what's happening, leaned on them & they obeyed. The Daily Mail is now a left wing Remainer paper along with LBC who now have all Left wing presenters (two from the BBC) Only Nick Ferarri is still there. Nigel Farage was levered out a few weeks ago. Rupert Murdoch took advantage of this and brought in excellent presenters to Talk Radio (some from LBC) which is now the fastest growing radio station. Because it's the only center Right radio station. It's why the Left have always tried to get rid of Murdoch. Thank goodness he's still doing such a great job. Too many people have swallowed the nonsense the Left have spouted about The Sun. Now people are realising the truth about the paper.

I largely agree. To my progressive fellow citizens, consider asking and answering this question, “What is it that conservatives want to conserve?” The answer is, “Conservatives want to preserve the classical liberal values expressed by the Declaration of Independence and instituted in the structure of our government thru the US Constitution.” Now, conservatives are human and thus, they are as imperfect as people of any other ideology... thus explaining when we have erred. However, the core goal is as stated above. That explains why progressives and conservatives agree with Bret. My disagreement with Bret is based on his statements implying that our form of government isn’t up to the challenge. He continually makes references to the founders having no possible way to understand today’s issues. While that is true, the founders knew that... and made the amendment of our Constitution possible. However, they still believed - and I agree - that most decisions should be made by state governments, not the federal government (i.e. Why on earth make a FEDERAL minimum wage... given the cost of living differences between California and Mississippi?).

Not only are the topics that Eric is willing to discuss difficult to navigate, but the default rules adopted by The proponents on both sides of these topics, punish those with the courage and ethics to resist contemporary dogma.

Except with overtly racial tones. Went to a peaceful gathering about educating people about different propositions on the upcoming ballot. Saw a table with lots of revolutionist literature and wanted to check it out. The group that set up the table was a white socialist organization called uhuru solidarity movement - a sub group of the black socialists of America. They didnt even know me or my beliefs and asked me to become a board member for their new chapter b/c they needed more white people. I went to this event with a woke friend and they felt so uncomfortable by an all white group that they finally saw criticisms of these race-based woke groups. The DSA literally made a caucus for minorities that white people couldn't join just to get more non-white members... i just don't understand how dividing people by race will result in less racism... The scary part is that it's getting indoctrinated into our institutions. I took a contemporary art history class over summer and the course ended with a link to das capital by Karl marx. While it was absolutely fascinating to get to read about, I'm still trying to understand why an art history class was teaching economics.

You think Bret is bright? Hmmmm... your intelligence standards are low. Unfortunately, so called higher education has lowered all of its standards and bars. The mass media driven popular culture has been dumbed down to the point that one can easily be impressed by anyone of average intelligence. You want to be impressed by genuine genius, try Thomas Sowell.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the opposite is true. That is, I think Trump's presidency has actually strengthened the extreme left's fervor. The problem is, he is so abhorrant to most leftists, that he drives would-be moderate leftists off the cliff to total craziness. The real way to dampen the far left's resolve is to have a less extreme right person who can lull them to sleep a little bit
@DeviantDeveloper4 жыл бұрын
@@nathaneckberg5921 I don't think so. The left has gone far left all over the west, not just in the US. They went far left in the UK under Theresa May (not exactly The Donald is she). Also, Trump isn't at all extreme if you look at his policies. We just need people willing to stand up against the extreme left, whatever they look like. Trump is one of the few people brave enough to do it. I'd certainly welcome anybody else who does the same.

Something I realized is the average person doesn’t realize what’s going on. They’re busy living their lives and casually tuning into surface level news and fb posts etc. They’re not versed on how rampant and toxic wokeness has become. If the average person would spend an hour two a day going down the rabbit hole and tuning into many of the anti woke channels they’d see what is eroding the foundation beneath them.
