I'm a black man who is married to a white woman. Some of her relatives and friends that she grew up with don't want anything to do with her because she married me. She loves me so much and doesn't care what others think. Honestly, I grew up thinking that a white woman would never love a black man like a black woman can. But you know what. My mom told me as I got older that you can't judge anyone by the color of their skin. She told me to just like at her as a woman and not a white woman. Look at her as a woman who loves you so much.

I grew up in a white Mennonite household & it was embedded into my parents & their siblings that they HAD to marry a fellow white Mennonite - or BOOM, they’d be going straight to hell. They would twist scripture to validate it also. I personally knew from a young age that If I got married, it definitely wouldn’t be to a white Mennonite. & I don’t think that was me trying to be rebellious, but rather the Holy Spirit working to break the generational racism in the family. I’m now married to a very black man, straight from Uganda, and God has done a work not only in my immediate family but my large extended family. It’s been an awesome unfolding! I almost think it would have been a betrayal to myself & the future generation if I would have married a white Mennonite. We’re having twins this spring! Our first pregnancy! & I just know Gods gonna do a whole new thing in breaking that generational racism through this next generation! Glory to God!

Josh, probably doesn’t feel like he betrayed his own race because he didn’t actively seek outside of his race. He just fell in love with a person who he liked. Simple. But yes Sav. Both white and black people can be judgmental. I never got the point of caring so much about what other people are doing. I’ll date anyone who I like and find attractive doesn’t matter the race, height, weight etc. 🤷🏽♀️

Merriam Webster's definition of racism: a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. Every single race has experienced and is capable of experiencing racism.
@audreyhudson9 ай бұрын
Question for u... What race thinks/talks about/brags about and has delusions about being the "superior race"??? ONLY one race has everrrr claimed to be the "superior race"! And that's white people! Not all white people have that delusion, but sadly it's a high percentage! So to me, by that definition only white people can be racist... However, EVERY race can discriminate or be prejudice against others!

I think Savannah should make an effort on learning and gaining knowledge on black history, it's so important when having a black husband ESPECIALLY to teach her black/ bi children.. she can start small like reading her children books about black women leaders. books that show people that look like them because we definitely know in school they are not & WON'T . Savannah is a beautiful soul but she has no knowledge of anything black besides having a black husband and it shouldn't be put all on him to teach his children.. we d o this in our interracial marriage with our kids.
@Kayla-mj2wt9 ай бұрын
she is making a effort in the video though wdym😭 it was AMAZING to me how she recognizes that racism only pertains to black ppl (vs. white ppl) - like black ppl can't be racist towards them- only them to us -(I say “us” cuz im black btw) & she understands how her being with Josh “benefits” him a.k.a gives him privileges that he wouldn't have on his own
@Kayla-mj2wt9 ай бұрын
it's very rare for white ppl to understand how its impossible for us to be “racist” towards them - It's impossible becuz they aren't oppressed at all racially.

How do you know she doesn't do the stuff u mentioned? How do u know She "knows nothing about black history"? What, all because they made videos where she "didn't know" black celebrities? I guess u missed the videoe where she also says she doesn't know who some of the white celebrities are!!!! I think it's all satire (meaning she's not being serious about not knowing who they are).... Just like the chick that acted like she didn't know what a cassette tape was and she was mispronouncing it on purpose
@iss25008 ай бұрын
“Books that show people that look like them” well their kids are not black but mixed/biracial but I understand your point. Also it’s more of a Josh’s job to do that cuz he’s black,to introduce them to his “race” (I quoted that cuz for me it’s only human race whatever). She doesn’t have to know all black celebrities and black women. They should work together as parents for sure. ✌️

I’m in an interracial relationship and I agree with sav in that I have learned a lot from my boyfriend about racism as well as when we first got together I know his family was worried about him being with me because I’m white and especially his dad advised him against dating a white woman which I know comes from past experiences. But his dad really loves me now and after getting to know me loves having me around. We’ve gotten looks from other black people because he is with a white woman. I believe that any race can experience racism and be racist. I also understand and we’ve both talked about how some of his past experiences have cause him to feel a certain way towards cops and other white people which also makes sense but he is just careful and if someone is chill with him it’s all good. We’ve experienced racism in such different ways. For me it was little things and for him I know it’s been a lot worse so I’m not going to say that I understand it all but being with him has definitely opened my eyes a lot. If you are a Christian you should know that everyone can be racist. Doesn't matter the colour. This thought that black people can't be racist to white people is a new thing and false. My husband is black from the Caribbean and he knows black people can be racist. RACISM is defined as someone who hates another race due to there skin. Solely based on skin colour. So anyone can be racist. Saying black people can't be racist is an excuse to say what ever you want. Imagine if a white person said that. This isn't a new thing btw. Go back to bible times.
