Once I went to a buffet restaurant with a friend of mine and this beautiful mom and her son came and sat next to us. They were talking in Spanish and suddenly my friend said "look at these wild Mexicans", I looked at him and said "if there is anyone wild here it's you, racist piece of ...". you should have seen his face... He never said anything racist after that, at least in front of me. Btw we aren't friends anymore. He ended up being crazier than I thought.

We were never abused for speaking English, probably some people were envious of our kids. And when we travelled to other countries we spoke English too.
