Derrick is excited to finally see the sailboat he is hoping to buy. When he arrives at the yacht club, the beautiful boat is even more perfect than he imagined. However, he is treated rudely by the broker who mistakes him for part of the cleaning crew. She soon learns a lesson in Karma and not to be a racist after Derrick meets the real owner of the boat and she's not happy with the brokers racist behavior.

This happens way to often…I remember when I first came home from Iraq.. I was working for the department of defense a saved up a nice amount of cash…I went to a dealership in flip flops, ball shorts and a white t shirt and a book-bag..I had 52k cash..they assumed the money was dirty money (drug money) then they assumed it was fake..the look on their faces when I showed them my military ID was priceless..this happened 2 years ago and I still receive emails from the sales manager asking me to come back in😂😂 racist 🤡’s

My son went through that when he was looking for a car. He went to a vette dealership and all the sales people kept walking by him. When he realized what they were doing THINKING HE COULDN'T AFFORD ANYTHING HERE. He sat there until someone finally decided to assist him. Let them see he had 3 accounts with over 80k in each and he was prepared to pay cash for the car. Now they were all over him. He explained to them how they treated him and told them he only wanted them to jump through hoops for a sale they were never going to get. He bought a Lexus instead.

This reminded me of the time I went into a Mercedes dealership to buy a new SUV and the salesman kept showing me a used one instead. I left after he tried showing me the used one. Guess he thought I didn't look rich enough to buy a Benz. I'm so glad that he did that because I went to the lexus dealership afterward and bought me a brand new Lexus GX 460 for $73k and now I'm hooked on lexus as they are super comfortable and very reliable.

Sad part is, this crap happens all the time. A guy wouldn’t even entertain me making an offer on his 70 Chevelle SS, because he thought I couldn’t afford it, and then even accused me of being a drug dealer because I offered cash of 57k when he was asking for 64k, in which it is totally normal in this business to offer cash to get the car cheaper than the asking price and avoid banks, money transfers, and paper trails. But, rather than sale to me, the dummy hires a broker who puts his car in a show room and takes a 20% cut of the sale if and when he sales it. I went to the show room and the broker showed me 3 Chevelles and the jerks car was one of them. I immediately recognized the car and offered 50k and we negotiated to 55k and the broker gets 20% of that which is 11k leaving the seller with 44k. So this bigoted idiot lost out on having 57k to only receiving 44k because he didn’t believe I could afford the car because I’m black. I met him again when I showed back up at the show room to get the car and made sure I let him know how stupid he is. The look on his face was priceless.

Brings back way too many incidents in my 66 years. Disturbing memories of false assumptions and outright dismissals. Could not enjoy this skit because the outcome is seldom as satisfying as depicted. Usually I was left to take my business elsewhere. Even complaining about treatment was met with shrugs. NEVER spend where you're not welcome. Otherwise you're paying for abuse.

@@yeolblt I cannot afford to be racist. I am a Talker. Who would I talk to if I were racist? I remember one day in a restaurant, I stopped and spoke to a black couple standing in the aisle. We had a great conversation. It lasted 10-15 minutes and it upset my daughter because she knows I talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere and she thought I might actually be upsetting this couple. We found out later that I did not upset them. In fact, they thanked me in an unusual way. When we went to leave the restaurant, I was told that the black couple had paid our bill for us. This happened many years ago. My father was a contractor and used a cement contractor for a number of years, who was black. The black man said he was looking at trucks for his business and could not get anyone to wait on him. He was in his work clothes. He went across the street to another dealership and bought 5 trucks that day. I never forgot that story from the early 1960’s.

This skit was well acted, one could almost believe it was really happening. I’m convinced that there are two groups of people who deny the existence of racism; those who are never subjected to it, and those who practice it. More often than not, they’re one and the same. That yacht broker was a member of both groups, and it was deliberate on her part. Easily identifiable and solvable. But the dangerous ones don’t see themselves as racist; things are the way they are because it’s the “natural order”. This is particularly insidious because nobody looks for solutions if they don’t know there’s a problem.

When I asked if someone for help on some that was $18k they didn't offer to help me. I told my girlfriend let's go. Went next door and purchased some that was $2k. Made it a point and went back in to Sears went up to the salesmen then they if the could help me. I pulled out my receipt saw it to them told them that was their lost, not only did I get a much better set of mattress also was given 2 pillows that was $125.00 for the set. The way the script was written, I already see a couple of mistakes if this were to happen in real life. The potential buyer should have identified himself immediately and confirmed the appointment. If the salesperson then steered the customer unprovoked to the dingy, then it's game over. The brokerage would have asked both sides what happened, and since there are laws and policies that deal with discrimination, Shannon would have been toast.
