Racquet Stringing Machine [String Clamp Recovery Revealed | Episode 2]

If you Google or search KZbin for "string clamp recovery," you won't find anything related. The main reason why you won’t find you won’t find information on RECOVERY related to string clamps on a stringing machine is that it’s a term I started using, so I guess I made it up.

Interesting test Albert - I'm actually experiencing 5mm of drawback on only one of my clamps on my older lockout machine. Kind of frustrating and it the bases aren't replaceable so looks like I'll try have to string slightly tighter

Aloha Akbar, Thanks for watching! Yes, I hear you. 😐 If you're stringing for yourself, then it's not as bad. However, if you're stringing for others, that would be a bad thing. In the worst-case scenario, setting your reference tension higher can sometimes cause even more drawback. 🤨

Very interesting series! I’m assuming the drawback on a drop weight using floating clamps would be significant? Any tips for us home stringers using floating clamps to reduce drawback/tension accurately?

Aloha Scott, Thanks for checking the two videos! Sorry, but I don't have any experience with stringing on a drop-weight machine with floating clamps. It would be interesting to see how the DT measures compared to a machine with fixed clamps. Without that comparison, one can only guess. In my opinion, the functionality of the machine and the stringer's technique play a major role in producing consistent string jobs. 🤙
