You make some of the best stringing videos . Keep it up. I just started stringing with electronic stringing machine gamma xls machine and found tensions all over place and never paid attention to clamps but later I realized that this was the problem but was struggling to find the right tightness as I don’t want to crush the strings too . This video helps a lot in this regard . Thank you again

Your videos tend to "deal with the matter" very helpful for those just starting to string their own racquets - Please make more. Also using the Prince 1000 2 pts mount and manual crank it's a good idea - I noticed it has the "load spreader" at each end. This one is good because it also covers redoing a string that has already pulled

Great video and very informative. I will check and make sure I am not getting clamp slippage next time I string. I do notice on my machine (Gamma 6004), I get slight base clamp movement especially on the cross. I think the way you are checking the slippage on the cross might not work for me. Any suggestions on avoiding base clamp movement?
@AMstringing2 жыл бұрын
Aloha Andy, The first thing you should do is make sure your string clamp rails and bases are clean. I'll be posting a video this week that will cover string clamp maintenance for your reference. Next, refer to your machine manual and adjust the string clamp bases. You may have to play around with it to make the right adjustment that will prevent your clamp bases from moving, and at the same time, allow free movement on the string clamp on the rails. Another issue you may be dealing with is called "drawback." This week, I posted an article on the IART website that discusses that issue. If you're a Premium Member, you can check it out here - gssalliance.com/iart-member-content/string-clamp-drawback-discussion/

Hi Albert, great video. I have a similar type of stringing machine and notice that the clamps slip on the bars. Is this common and what should be done to prevent it?

Great video & thanks much for sharing. One question: Does the starting clamp (next to the fixed clamp) on the 1LM string generally always work to allow tension to be pulled on 1RM? I have a NEOS 1000 & had a couple times where I pulled 1RM & apparently had slippage on the clamp on 1LM as the tension ping would not click & I was not using a starting clamp (just fixed clamp on 1LM). Uncertain how much stress that places on the frame and/or string (as worried about such) so was wondering if the starting clamp use (next to fixed clamp) on 1LM generally resolves that issue.
@AMstringing2 жыл бұрын
Aloha, Thanks, and I hope I can help. Using the starting clamp behind the string clamp on 1LM will reduce the chances of slippage on the first pull. It wouldn't place more stress on the frame or the string. Another option to start your mains is to use the Yusuki method. Have you seen my other video titled, "3 Applications of the Offset Tube?" kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYmpXq2JdpVqlbs

@@AMstringing Thanks much for the reply & the link to the other video which I'll check out for sure. I'll try using the starting clamp behind the string clamp on 1LM for the 1st pull on 1RM & hopefully that will resolve that 1st pull slippage issue I've experienced a couple times. My reference to being uncertain how much stress (on frame and string) the slippage on that 1st pull on 1RM where the tension ping would not click was in regards to what I experienced when only using the fixed clamp on 1LM (no assistance from a starting clamp) as uncertain what that slippage causing the tension head ping to not click actually does to the frame & string. You may not have experienced it since you are using the starting clamp as insurance on 1LM to avoid the slippage on that 1st pull on 1RM.

@@vnishpt7036 Couple more thoughts . . . 1) I'm assuming your clamps are clean and adjusted so that it's not showing any signs of slippage on any of the other strings that you're clamping. So slippage is only occurring on the first pull. 2) Another option is to use a business card in the teeth of the string clamp on the first pull. Watch from 8:16 on this video.

@@AMstringing Re: #1 Yes, after it happened the 1st time I contacted Tennis Machines (St. Louis Mo.) to determine if might be an issue with tension head or gripper & they advised to make sure clamps & gripper were freshly cleaned. So went ahead & did a fresh cleaning & still noticed it occurring a couple add'l times when using NXT Comfort 16G string (only on 1st M pull). So hopefully using the starting clamp as insurance on 1LM will prevent from happening going forward. Re: #2 I've not tried the business card alternative but found that interesting so have noted it. Thanks again for the video & your replies. Best regards...
