Good Review!! I just bought one, wasn't hard to put together, tested one in St. Petersburg Store. We are older folks, so my wife is going to use the trike. I have two other rad bikes.

Great review. Legitimate and objective criticisms. Leaving out what seems should be standard is not a new practice. Keeps entry price lower and uses pride of ownership to fill out the sails.

The M340 has a great range - I can ride for hours on a single charge, which is perfect for my daily errands and commutes.

I hope you see this since KZbin stopped posting my reviews for some unknown reason. I've always been respectful. Anyway, I just order my Rad e-trike. I have been researching e-trikes for 2 months and I have looked at a lot of trikes. I too expected racks and suspension. But I was able to get the 1 free accessory if I order June 6th I still believe it's a really well made e-trike but I'll let you know when it arrives. Rad Power e-trike is the ONLY company that I could actually get in touch with. They promptly answered all my question both email and phone with a real person. No one else did that. Customer service is very important so I feel as though I purchased my e-trike from a company that I can trust. Plus the price has come down considerably.

Sorely needs a transmission. The cadence at 14 mph is much higher than most adults would want, thus requiring throttle use and negating any exercise motive.

Thank you for the very good and complete review. I especially appreciated your analysis of the pluses and minuses, and gave me valuable information. I am looking to purchase my first etrik for my wife and myself, but there are a few requirements, of which I would appreciate any guidance. First, it needs to have full ability to ride without any peddling because we both have knees that would not be able to take the strain. In fact, I have purchased 2 Ancheer ebikes that we ended up selling with less than 5 miles on them because we couldn't peddle (we are in our 70s). They need to have some type of suspension, and a seat similar to this Rad Bike (soft, wide and with a padded back). It also need to be somewhat narrow (maybe 24 inches or so, because I don't have a lot of free room in my garage. We would use them mainly like we would use a golf cart and just go around the level) neighborhood and clubhouse, and to the local supermarket that is only about 2 miles away. A range of at least 20 miles would be ideal under complete EV drive no peddling). Your guidance would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Rad is primarily direct to consumer, so you can order it online, however they do have a few retail store locations where you'd be able to test ride or buy. Mostly in California but they are also set up in Salt Lake, Seattle, Denver, Florida, and NY as well.

Too expensive for the market it’s aimed at. Also the coaster brake not much use to people with mobility issues. I see many crashes in the future.

You make a good point there. I haven't rode a bike with a coaster brake for quite awhile but from what I remember you have to press down relatively hard if you want to stop quickly while braking. I'll have to swing by the RPB store near me and give it a test ride soon to see how it feels.

I definitely keep my eye on them, however, I usually stick to the affordable/economy class ebikes while those brands tend to be in the "premium" price range.

@@ElectricRidesUT I was considering a Rad bike but I am a member of a Facebook Bicycle group and was encouraged to go with a bicycle company. Plus I wanted something lighter that I could lift. It was pricey but I have a bike shop close by for repairs and I can ride it without the electric turned on. It also looks more like a regular bike. Specialized is having a sale on some of their 2022 EBikes. I did rent a Rad bike when I was at the beach and loved it!

Number one they should get a basket for the price people need to complain about the basket and the battery size before they think about buying rad trike. They need to look elsewhere. If they put a bigger battery and a free back basket to go with that trike, and suspension on the seat, I will buy one other than that I’m looking elsewhere.2024 real talk
