@@ElectricBikeReview Mind you it was 20 degrees F. I was using level 5 and a good amount of throttle to understand my floor. Had one bar left. Today it was 40 degrees and did 23 miles. Switched levels 3-5 and less throttle and one bar left. My plan is to commute to work (20 miles each way). I'm concerned with the colder weather not being able to make it. Hopefully when it warms up it'll be more accurate to what was listed. I haven't owned a car in about 10yrs (motorcycles only). I want to go full PEV and this is my start.

I bought four Rad Rovers last year for my daughter's family. The build quality for the the price is just awesome. The shipping is not something you should worry about. I have never seen anything packed as well as these RAD bikes! THe frick'in FEDEX driver on one delivery just pushed the box out the back of his van and let it drop onto the concrete driveway(my wife watched as he did it) and there was no damage to the bike at all, not even a scratch or bent item. The packing is so good it will take awhile to remove all the padding and zip ties! I can't say enough good things about RAD Powerbikes! I did a ton of research before I bought them and had a lot of misgivings about shipping and on-line orders. These bikes are awesome! They are a bit heavy but that doesn't affect the power capability or the ride. It will matter if you want to put four of them on a rack!

Have looked and read reviews of many new e-bikes. But, still have not seen any I would buy. Been ridding my Rad Power mini since 2016 and over 3,000 trouble free miles. The only thing I would want is front suspension. Other than that none so far are better or offer more utility. Bought it after have a heart attack and triple bypass operation in 2015 and am now 80 years old and going strong. It came with front and rear racks the new ones don't. Also tow a cart that holds 66 lbs and have since I bought it. Although it says it voids the warranty have had zero problems. And I like the location of the controller and the 48 volt 660watt hour battery on my bike and weighs 61 pounds. Rad on and have fun.
@DerekKerton3 жыл бұрын
Good review. Mine arrived this week, my 12th ebike. One thing that's worth mentioning, and was important to me, was the rear rack is VERY STRONG. The tubes are thick diameter. It's an option, so it'll cost you, but it can easily handle the weight of a young passenger, and arguably handle a bigger passenger. It's also a regular sized rear rack, unlike a Velobecane Work folder bike I bought in the EU, which has a shorter rear rack. Also, I'd say I like this bike because it rides like a bike, not like a folder. I was looking for a folder that didn't flex, or feel like I made a big compromise in frame strength to get the fold. With the mini, it's stiff and strong, and you pay the price in the heavy weight. I like that trade-off.

@dylanhabedank81843 жыл бұрын
I am building out a van right now to live in and am looking at getting an e bike or one wheel to ride around towns. Still a tough decision. I believe he said it was a 14 amp hour battery with a 2 amp hour charger. So in theory a completely dead battery would take about 7 hours to charge. The charger is AC so if you got a 12volt battery, you would draw about 20 amps for 7 hours or 240 watts of continuous solar :)
@DerekKerton3 жыл бұрын
@@dylanhabedank8184 Right. Another way to think about it is that you get about 40 miles of range, and that charges in 7 hours, so you can charge roughly 6mph - that is, for every hour of charge, you add 6 miles of range.

Paying $2,100 for a electric bike was something big for me on top of this it got to me with a defect on the back wheel I only figured this out after bringing the bike to the bike shop with the two new winter tires that I bought having to fight with Rod Power bikes for a refund and then when I do send the bike it gets lost in the natural disaster but when I call the support team they make me believe that there's nothing they could do until they received the bike so I'm left to fight with FedEx almost every day to know where is the bike how much flooding there is at this Warehouse to know when I could actually get a refund when one of the employees at FedEx tells me that FedEx only ensures for $100 this parcel having to wait 3 days when I call rad power bikes back and then that's where Amina tells me in a cold way that she is sorry and she is refunding the bike but at this point a simple refund out of the question I feel I was misled robbed of my time and energy and money

The difference in weight between the plastic and aluminum fenders is so Minimal as to be not worth mentioning At All, wasted breath.

This appears to be a good quality Electric Bike. However, it’s made in China so I could not and would not in good conscience buy this bike. I’m a Canadian. China is holding 2 Canadians hostage in dreadful conditions in a Chinese jail. The are being held on trumped-up charges in retaliation for Canada arresting a Huawei executive. She is fighting extradition to the US but is allowed to live in her choice of either of her Vancouver mansions during the process. She is being allowed complete freedom, except to leave the country, until her extradition proceedings have been resolved. The Canadians on the other hand are in solitary confinement with light on their their cells 24/7. They have been denied visits from family and Canadian consular officials. Please avoid products from China wherever and whenever possible until this is resolved. It’s time to push back.

Thanks for sharing that. I was under the impression these were made in USA by an American company which is why I began researching Rad. Oh well, I’ll hold off til I can get one made in USA.

Donna Hi Donna, It’s not just difficult but almost impossible to avoid Chinese products so don’t let my opinion influence your decision. After going ‘full altruism’ on this issue, I ended up buying some Chinese-made items recently that simply are not available from any other source. Period!. And I’m replying to you on my iPad........Chinese made! Electrical products like light fixtures, for instance, are almost exclusively from China. Try buying a paint brush not made in China. Mountain Equipment Co-op, Home Depot and Lowes to name a few have become an outlet stores for China, it seems. Very disturbing that we’ve allowed manufacturing to exit Canada and the US to a country (China) whose leaders want to put their foot on your throat and do it with a smile. I bought a Specialized ebike made in Taiwan but it was anything but reasonable. I suspect ebikes will come down in price because that market has become very competitive. However they are selling like hot cakes so for now the prices are pretty stable. Anyway.......thanks for your reply. BTW.......I’m 72, have been a lifelong cyclist and have owned dozens of bikes. My wife and I are REALLY enjoying our ebikes. No more hills! Best Wishes. Laurie Lyon, Toronto.

@@laurielyon7740, Yes, I understand and agree that sometimes a particular item isn’t available as American made. But then when I really check myself I have to ask myself if it isn’t Made In USA then can I live without it.

Unwatchable with your left hand flopping around in every frame. Less can be more.

I think it's cool but overpriced

What do you think a fair price for something like this would be? I think there are slightly less expensive ebikes that are designed similarly, but don't have the same level of customer support and warranty.
@nightowlnativeflute94964 жыл бұрын
gotham ghost these ebikes have a lot of mechanical components, and are a lot bigger when you see them in person. I saw one at my grocery store someone was riding, and was surprised on the size. 68 pounds is a lot of bike, and for everything you get $1,500 is a great deal in my opinion. You could spend way more on a non e bike.

It's always better to pay a little more for a company that is likely to be around next year when you need support/ parts. Over the years I have found that I often can't afford the cheaper price.

Have you even considered a "normal" mountain bike price, which is of a good quality? They go for 2-5K. This is cheap.
