Some people should read the credits before assuming who is in the film. One of the main villains is "Lone Ranger" Clayton Moore.

The radio in the left foreground at 6:10-6:17 is a top-of-the-line Hallicrafters SX-42 wide-band receiver (540 kHz-110 MHz, $275 list price in 1947, which translates to roughly $3,300 in 2020 after adjusting for inflation). The speaker on top of the radio is a Hallicrafters R42 ($25 list price in 1947, roughly equivalent to $300 in 2020). A Hallicrafters SX-43 (not as good as the SX-42) is in Cody's lab behind his desk, visible for several seconds in episode 1 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmO0k5emaqyAf8k ) and more clearly for 2 seconds in episode 4 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2LUeYyihaeGn6s ). A Google search will reveal much more about these radios.

I am almost 70 years old. I grew up with radios that used vacuum tubes instead of transistors and integrated circuits, and I became a ham radio operator. The reason I posted this note about these Hallicrafters radios is that all the other scientific "equipment" in this serial is obviously phony and cheap. Therefore, imagine my surprise when I see two of the top shortwave receivers of that era used as props. Those two radios were quite expensive. I cannot believe that they were purchased for use in serials, particularly when you look at the other props. It would have been much cheaper to buy WWII surplus electronics. It is unlikely that someone in the technical crew would have loaned these radios, because I can't believe that one person would spend that much money to buy TWO expensive radios. Either one was beyond the reach of most hams. My best guess is that a local radio dealer loaned these receivers to the movie makers for a 1952 version of product placement. Radio amateurs were probably keen to watch science -related serials and would have recognized these radios, just like we recognize Apple computers and various soft drink and car brands in modern movies. This is purely a guess.
