No, it is indeed spinning in the proper direction. What you're seeing is a textbook example of an optical illusion known as the "wagon-wheel effect" (or, as in this case, "reverse-rotation effect"), which can cause rotating objects such as propellers (and wagon wheels, hence the name) to appear to be turning in the opposite direction than they actually are.
