I really hate this shit. Like tune numbers don’t tune fun. It feels super cool to be an actual herald of the sun, with constant wings and dawn lights burning everything with holy energy going everywhere. If it ends up doing like 50x more damage than any other class, just tune the numbers. Only mechanical worry I have is if constant dawn lights in PvP make it impossible to soft cc targets. But there are easy ways to fix that.

happens anytime Ret starts looking viable....Hunters/mages/locks/rogues QQ in forums that their top 5 spots are threatened and Blizz comes to save their babies and nerfs Ret.

As much as I would love for this to make it to live. It is way to OP for it to actually make it there. Especially for PVE. Like this would be absolutely broken in raid fights and Mythic+

It's all going to be nerfed but think of it like other dps classes that have a "maintain this buff" thing. rogues are terrible unless they have their self buff up near 100% then they become the literal best. Ret isn't gonna have the legendary crutch in WW and we're already seeing crazy low numbers compared to last season in season 4. Ret being the most popular class in the game (changes semi frequently lately, used to be permanent warrior) Blizz can't just let them fall to the bottom like this. IF ANYTHING; compared to other classes hero talents? (fire mage, demo lock) we might actually need this to go live AND be buffed (compared to the other classes that have gotten absolutely wild buffs as opposed to a few passive ticks like ret)

They're coming up with things I didn't even know I wanted like wtf man how high can ret stocks rise? Each change also makes both of the already good looking hero talents look better. So another change that happened this week was the mastery proc was cut in half, so that talent change to boundless judgment basically makes it proc as much as it was last week, but hammer of wrath is still nerfed in how much it procs our mastery. Also they made Wake do damage in the direction your camera is facing rather than the direction your character is facing. Should help out when strafing to avoid shit

I think radiant glory’s effect should be in the hero talent, lots of proc but maybe reduced the duration to 4-6 sec and only the wake of ashes gives the full duration.

That change with making us choose between a stronger divine protection and shield of vengeance is horrible , they just had to nerf our defensives somehow...... at least remove the 10% nerf in pvp.

Since the rework ret is probably the tankiest DPS in the game with access to a pretty short CD dr, absorb shield, two immunities, and the defensive talents coming from either hero talent tree. They can definitely be toned down at least a little bit

@@ayoubabderahimmami764 herald has the talent that makes your wake give you a small shield of vengeance and it has the improved wog, Templar has the talent that makes your hammer crits reduce damage you take by 5%. I know it's not much but if they didn't change defensives at all ret would by definition be tankier this xpac. Also I believe this is part of a larger push to nerf defensives across the board same way they nerfed a lot of melee range talents. They've mentioned they want to tone down defensives, but don't quote me on that one

I could name lots of melees that feel tankier than ret specially against dispells to immunities. so them flat nerfing defensives when ret in pvp is actually pretty squishy makes zero sense. also rets healing in pvp is dead absolutely dead.

Yes it's ret spec talent so you can have it as either hero spec. Important to note though it's not meant to be permanent the chance for your abilities to proc wings is just way too high right now

New change this week they changed radiant glory to grant you wings based on hp spent rather than a chance on every attack and it correctly extend wings. Should make it way less over powered and more predictable, curious to see how close this is to being what goes live

It does say that it does do that he gets a small wrath each time he wakes the part that's broken is the chance for his abilities to activate it too it's way too high a chance right now. I imagine it should work like the enhance talent that triggers ascendance, kinda rare but internally makes it so you're eventually guaranteed a proc

as much fun as this looks it needs some balancing. one way they can nerf it is just reduce the RNG% on Radiant glory or just less seconds on crusade/wrath. they could rework some nodes on herald of the sun so pretty consistent uptime on crusade/ wrath doesn't break the class. looks like a blast wishing i got into alpha to play this while it's here.

While yes they will nerf this i still expect it to extend dawnlights and wings by a fair amount since this is almost the same as "Visions of Perfection" from BFA and i remember being able to have 50 second crusades fairly often, this is one of the playstyles ret has been missing a lot the "proc gamplay" really happy that its coming back

I have high hopes, DF was the most balanced xpac by a mile and a half and each hero talent has a few nodes in it that are ready tuning knobs. The boring x ability does y% more damage are there exactly to help them balance everything. Also I think fun should be the top priority, and this shit looks fun as hell

@@betahumanx the last two years have shown serious and honest change that's why. At least when it comes to the wow team it seems like they've gotten their shit together. They're making things now that look better and more imaginative than at any other point in wow's history. Also a lot of the people that were making wow stagnant and lame are gone. Kotick is gone, Brack is gone, Ybarra is gone, Danuser is gone, Golden is gone, the sex pests are gone (Afrasiabi was probably the biggest thing holding wow back with his no negativity in the dojo stance and his perv boner for Sylvanas that got us BFA and SL), Longdale is in, Hight is in, Metzen is back, so yeah it looks like the leadership is much more concerned with the health of the game and long term success rather than mobile game-esque play time metrics. Long story short there are tangible reasons to look at wow and the wow team and expect the future to be different. It remains for them to not meet those expectations but they have been for the last two years like I said

"Permanent avenging wrath". It just loses its meaning entirely if it's up more often than not. If thats in anyway balanced as a baseline property of the paladin, then its just an animation and not a meaningful cooldown. This game is just mind games. Bunch of subscription based brain candy.

It's not meant to be permanent it's just alpha. My theory on why they're making this talent is to give herald the same fun feeling when pressing wake as Templar does. Also all games are mind games. That's why we play them to occupy our minds and have fun. If you don't have fun don't play

It's really not that complex, you just break it down and there's obvious synergies you should be getting if you choose a given path.

You can just pick a starter build and go from there. The hero talents are not complex at all at least not for ret and there's only three choice nodes each, every talent you get from leveling up
