Got to do this tonight on a 97 Wrangler Sport. After watching your clip, I'm pretty sure it will be an ez install. I saved up for an aluminum radiator and it's supposed to be an exact fit. Thank you for the great clip!!

I think my bolts are 7/16 on the fan shroud and radiator. 97 Jeep Wrangler Sport. Where do you get a thumb rachett.
@Poweraddicts6 жыл бұрын
Might be able to find the ratchet at harbor freight if you have one near you. If not, here is an Amazon link to s nice set: amzn.to/2KIWKVr . Good luck on the swap!!

Watched your video and it helped making the task of changing out the Radiator much easier. I have a 2006 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon that I bought new. The shroud bolts are 11mm or 7/16". There were only 4 10mm bolts holding the radiator to the body 2 on the top and 2 on the very bottom. I guess Jeep was trying to cut costs as there were only 4 of the black nuts that slid on the sheet metal to where the mounting holes are. I used a 1/4" drive socket and was able to access the top bolts between the brackets on the Radiator I did have to use an extension to get to the bottom bolts on the Driver's side. The only big problem that I had was when one of the shroud bolts dropped and did not fall on the ground. I finally found it but it was not easy I fund it on the Transmission housing.

Hi Chuck, Just reviewed the radiator video. On the bolts for the shroud that cut their threads. Can't you run the bolts first before insert the radiator? Might make it easier. ....... So, where is the tee shirt, couldn't find it on website. I'd like one Large. let me know how much. Great videos .

What do you do for the hose ports that aren’t connected to the transmission?i also have a five speed and will not need to connect to those bottom hose ports. Do you need to plug them somehow? Thanks in advance!
@JimmyHinton8 жыл бұрын
When I replaced my radiator for my 95 Jeep the metal clip for bolts broke off and I had to use nuts and bolts. It even did on the fan shroud too. When I did this I make sure the nuts it was lock nuts so they wouldn't back out. On the shroud is more like screws.
@Poweraddicts8 жыл бұрын
Best nuts to use is the ones with the Nylon inserts. You dont have to tighten then super tight like you would with lock washers. Thanks for dropping in! Have a great day!

His TJ would leak till the radiator was about half full. Luckily it never really ran hot. I need a new one in mine soon. It looks rough!

You didn’t plug the automatic transmission ports when you put the radiator in. It still had the red plastic plugs in place. You did have to replace the red plastic plugs, right?
@Poweraddicts Жыл бұрын
The red plugs are for the transmission cooling lines for an automatic. That Jeep is a manual 5 speed, it doesn't use those ports.
@juliocvergara22804 жыл бұрын
question I have same radiator do we need to put plugs in the bottom holes?
@BDoutside11014 жыл бұрын
All replacement radiators I can find come with the additional fittings for auto trans. I have manual trans. I’m worried that the little plastic plug won’t keep water from just shooting out those holes. What am I missing. I noticed that you left just the little plastic things that came in it. Please explain...
@Poweraddicts4 жыл бұрын
Water doesn't go through the part that the little plugs stop up. So don't worry about it, just put the radiator for the auto trans in your good.

Still recommend the Rock Auto radiator after having it for awhile? If so, can you recommend a specific model? I noticed they have several options on their website. I’ve got a 99 TJ 2.5L, thanks!
@Poweraddicts6 жыл бұрын
That is my buddy's Jeep. That radiator is still performing great, no issues at all. I checked the site, I don't remember exactly the part number radiator he ordered. But, from the price point I remember him paying it should be the CU2101. I also went one step farther and checked Amazon for that exact part number. It is available on Amazon and you will save about $8 going through Amazon because of the free shipping, plus Amazon is a bit faster on shipping as well. Here is the link: amzn.to/2Dngdfd . Hope this helps! Good luck!! Have a great day!

what causes my car to shake when I put my foot on the gas pedal and when I shifted into gear
@Poweraddicts8 жыл бұрын
There are so many possibilities it would be practically impossible to diagnose without seeing it for myself. Could be sensor issues. Depending on what "kind of shake" meaning .. erratic engine performance or driveline wear (output shaft bearing .. u-joints .. etc.) .. each produces a different kind of shake.

Did you say the radiator is from Rock auto?
@Poweraddicts8 жыл бұрын
Yep .. Turned out to be the least expensive option. All the auto parts store was $100+. I think my buddy told me that it was about ~$85 shipped. But dont hold me to that being that he ordered and had it shipped to his house.Its a well built radiator also.
