We're back with the #RadicalRundown!
In this episode, Brunswick Core Engineer Bryan Buckosh will talk about the Conspiracy Scheme core and how it differs from the Incognito/Informer/Bigfoot series in design and performance.

I picked up a Conspiracy Scheme last week and love the reaction. It really hits hard. Swish zone or a pocket hit, that sound brings a smile to my face and people wonder what I’m throwing.

Can you saw a bunch of Bigfoots in half along the axis that runs from the pin to the CG (like Packy did with the Ebonite Game Breaker Asym)? I trust you that that moment arm will always be right there in line with the CG but I want to see it in action too.

When talking about the cores and drilling it would be nice to include no thumb bowlers in your explanation. Thank you for the info

I believe this is why the no thumb layouts (2ls) puts the fingers in the side of the core or (way below the pin) to act as a thumb hole for no thumb bowlers if that makes sense. It gives way more diff and int diff if that’s what you’re looking for. Really interesting how it all works

This technology is very interesting Bryan. Anyway, how can I mark the accurate position for each spike? If I draw a line from pin through CG for 6 3/4", can I assume that position as a position of the core spike?
@BowlingBuckosh
@BowlingBuckosh 2 жыл бұрын
that is correct. 6.75" from the pin through the CG will be the center of the "front" moment arm on Bigfoot.

@@BowlingBuckosh Thank you for the helpful information Bryan. So it means that though this one is a symmetric bowling ball, we should apply asymmetric ball layout manner for this one.
@BowlingBuckosh
@BowlingBuckosh 2 жыл бұрын
@@varutv6975 yes! we are using the drilling angle to control the direction the front of the core faces. this ball will still spin to the thumb like a true sym regardless of the layout though, which makes it symmetrical by definition. the more you know, lol.

On the Bigfoot core drilling the thumb at 7:30 right of the Pin with Cg in center of grip and finger holes around 1:30 would this be the best pattern for a full roller or is the a better option to use giving the most continuous motion off the break?
@BowlingBuckosh
@BowlingBuckosh 2 жыл бұрын
same answer i gave on the previous video, you will want the PSA in the area of the fingers for a full-roller, the CG does not have to be in the center on grip.

How would using only finger holes affect the numbers/ball reaction/you know what I mean ? Thank you very informative and easy to understand with the visuals and precise numbers
@KennyGrinols

Quite a bit. In fact, the entire 2LS system that Storm designed is based on the fact, that core dynamics for 2 handers are significantly different because the thumb hold or balance hole is no longer effecting the core. Meaning a 'pin up' ball for just 2 fingers, actually had the opposite effect, because you're taking more from the top of the core, and nothing from the side. This is why neither Storm or Radical recommend pin down balls for 2 handers anymore, because technically speaking, pin up without a thumb, has similar core dynamics after drilling, as a pin down ball would. Radical recommends all pins above the 'pin to ring finger' line, and Storm recommends all pins are least 1" from the Center of Grip. Storm released a very in depth breakdown of the how and why of the new system on their YT channel I would strongly recommend.

@@KennyGrinols I will check it out, I have 3 balls all with thumbs but I like to bowl both ways, regardless of what balls the reaction would be similar to how he mentions because they are drilled out right?

for layouts placing the fingers in the area of the pin, the diff will be driven down a little bit. if you use a layout that puts the fingers in the area of the mass bias, you can drive the total diff and the intermediate diff up, in the same manner as a thumb hole.

, Is the 30 or 70 better with Pin Up or Pin Down? Also, what would be the best VAL angles? I realize some of this is conditioned by the lane patterns.
@BowlingBuckosh
@BowlingBuckosh 2 жыл бұрын
no pin-down layouts are recommended on these symmetrical balls. the drilling angle required to get the PSA in the thumb depends on the bowler's PAP. the numbers used here are based on 5" over. If your PAP horizontal is less than 5", the drilling angle will be less than 70, and more if it is more than 5" over. The VAL angles depend on the desired reaction. see the drilling instructions on the website, or in the ball box, and make sure to adjust them for your PAP.
@CDRFAR
@CDRFAR 2 жыл бұрын
@@BowlingBuckosh My PAP is 5.5 and 1/8 Up. So a good layout would be 30x5x70 or 70x5x70? As I recall, 30 would result in a smoother reaction. A 1000 pad would grip the medium oil.
@BowlingBuckosh
@BowlingBuckosh 2 жыл бұрын
@@CDRFAR these are both pin-down layouts, you want VAL angles (2nd angles) in range of 20 to 45 degrees depending on how sharp you want the motion. 80 x 4.5" x 35 will get you in the range for stronger backend. 35 x 4.5" x 35 if you are looking for smoother. 1000 only for heavier patterns, unless you are more speed dominant.
@CDRFAR
@CDRFAR 2 жыл бұрын
@@BowlingBuckosh Thank you. I assume, the 35x4.5x35 takes the thumb off the Momentum Arm giving 4 spinning arms.
@BowlingBuckosh
@BowlingBuckosh 2 жыл бұрын
@@CDRFAR correct, since 80 puts the thumb in the PSA for this layout and PAP, 45 degrees from that (80-45 = 35) puts the thumb right between the knobs.

interesting observation. the conspiracy core is a radical design based on phil's break, with modified dimensions and densities. the bigfoot core looks a bit similar, but really has no relation to bounty.
@hotstovejer
@hotstovejer 2 жыл бұрын
@@BowlingBuckosh I disagree. It's a Bounty core with the assymetry gone. RG for the Bigfoot is 2.47, Diff is 0.053 Bounty is 2.49, diff is 0.054, intermediate diff is 0.021. In the video, it's stated that if you drill out one of the arms with the thumb, it makes the intermediate diff around 0.017 Also, the great Mo Pinel stated that core shape dictates motion.
