Recently found out that this song was dedicated to his late sister, Hannah. You are a wonderful person, Ben. Truly life changing.

We crept from the room The moonlight spilled down the hall And I tiptoed with you Then we climbed out the window And there in the yard Our nightclothes blowing in the breeze And you looked up at the sky And said the moon would be ours And all this time I hear those words like bombs in the distance And oh my mind, I can still smell the rain in the air But time's gone by And I'm not the kid I was on that evening And somewhere inside I hope you still see me just the way I was before I walked away Mud on your dress Blood stains on the knees of my pants And we went in search of the moon 'Cause you said that you knew where it slept in the day So we gathered up our tools: A sling-shot in case it ran for the sky And a blanket from your room, the one with no holes So we could drag it all the way back home And you said when we got it back We would cut it in two And we'd wear the hide so magnificent And then I could control time for you And I still hear the way that you laughed When you found I believed you And I can still feel you pull on my arm When I was too afraid to go And all this time I hear those words like bombs in the distance And my, oh my, I can still smell the dirt on our hands 'Cause in my head You're still alive, you're still alive And I know that it's a lie But it's one I like, it's one I like

Ben, I really want to thank you for your work. Your music is brilliant, touching and very personal. You and your band made, and keep making my favourite songs. It's because your songs really do mean something. I feel that they are more like stories about you, me and everybody who listens to them. So thank you again and keep in this astonishing work.

this song feels like the last, long hug you give someone the last time you'll ever see them alive and it breaks my heart every time. EDIT: Wow I was right. I lost my grandmother a year ago and the final verse punches me in the fucking gut now. I miss her.

Pure Beauty in the emotion of this song as is most of Ben's work!! The world is greater place for his music and thoughts. Recently saw his amazing music live at the Union Chapel in London, 3 years since the last time I saw him in concert in London. A life changing affermin experience!! The world is a so better place with his music, the sad thing he will probably never know how many of us he has touched to our actual soul and heart with his music!! I'm guessing it's many!!

On October 29th he published this song, two years later I heard this song. Two years later I continue to listen to it, to admire it, to love it. It's been four years, they flew. The time is passing too fast, and I'm not sure that I'm living it. I loved you, Ben, since I listened your songs, every time I met someone, I advice to him to listen your songs. Me and my best friend love you, you can't imagine how many times you gave us so many emotions. I'll remember these memories for ever, and you helped me. We have thanked you a lot, but... thank you again Ben.

yesterday I just found out my dad tested positive for covid... he's a Filipino and he works in UAE- separated from us. For 4 years he didn't have the opportunity to go back home because he was unemployed for a short time. Even in the midst of crisis he still continued to go to work knowing the risks of contracting it. If I had the chance to switch places with him I'd happily give myself. He didn't know he contracted it until he went for a check-up for his ulcer. I don't know what to do to help him.. I'm honestly frustrated.. Listening to this just made me cry more just thinking about him.

right after the second verse where you sing "so we could drag it all the way back home", instead of continuing to the bridge you should have made the verse longer and added a violin or a lead or something. it would sound sooo good and i get so mad every time that part comes because it would sound so good if that verse would continue and then jump to the chorus.

O.O That's one of my favorites part of the song!! :) If ANY song should have been continued differently it's gotta be *WEST*. It ends so abrupt and almost disconnected from the whole song.. ~sighs THAT's another fav song I usually put on repeat 😍 but it gets little jarring at the end for me.
