Mostly in motorsports whenever a crash happens you're so much in shock for the first few seconds that all you do is try to correct it with minimal time loss even though it is something like this. Kind of just comes out of habit and you can see that he realizes there isn't no coming back only after the car is already stopped

There was a little bump at the exit of that corner. It seems like that caused the rear wheels to lose grip in that acceleration phase. I read comments about the driver is ok, I really hope so and it looks like he got away with a scare. That's not granted with so many trees around. Definitely tricky conditions, no real safety zone and a beast of a car. Glad nothing too bad happened.

@muaythai1932 жыл бұрын
He went off the throttle, so the weight shifted to the front (less grip on the rear tires), while the g-forces were pulling the car to the left, he then reapplied too much throttle too quickly (for the wet conditions), which gave the rear tires the final impulse needed to lose traction and kick the rear out. Plus there was a little bump, which indeed added to losing traction at the rear. Think of it as the cherry on top.

@atomproduction89402 жыл бұрын
@@andyowens5494 Look at his shoulders... It's not because you can't see the difference that they don't exist... Muscular contraction in his shoulders is blocking all the feedback informations that the wheel is giving about the grip on track, and it's exactly why he did'nt correct overacceleration on time... He is inexperenced, that's all. Conditions were hard and he is clearly very scared in this run
@andyowens54942 жыл бұрын
@@atomproduction8940 You can barely see his shoulders, let alone make any assessment of his state of mind or "muscular" anything. It's a quick car in damp conditions, and he got it slightly wrong; the rest is only in your head. I'm pretty sure that's Catalin Luhasz; shall we ask him if he was feeling scared at the time? I generally agree with you. The thing is, if he let go on the accelerator in the moment he realised going sideways with the opposite lock on, chances are pretty high that he would immediately experienced a snappy tank slap in the other direction with possibly worse outcome than what actually happened. The idea drives me crazy as well: sometimes it is better not to react and correct than trying to correct due to high chance of OVER-correcting. Especially with these kind of mid engined, light weight machines.

Physics plays a part in saving any lose. However, no matter the car type (regardless of weight transference occurring from even the most aggressive form of engine braking combined with the heaviest rear mounted V12) if you believe that keeping the throttle buried, in the wet, after the rear has let go, keeping it floored (with no modulation whatsoever) through the entire lose at 90 + degrees of rotation and expect the car to do anything other than loop your ass off the road ... well, I think we’d all like to see you perform that miracle, so you’d best post it when you get your driving license.
