For those of us who never had the chance to see them in the US, their reunion was greatly appreciated. I'm sure they don't have the same energy they did 30 years ago, but I can tell you that the two shows I saw were amazing!

No need to look back and wish you were there. I saw these guys last year and they STILL kick ass and take names. I thought Rob was gonna have a heart attack, hell, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Tek is even better today than he was then. AMaZing.

All these Birdman videos are incredible. Like a cross between early Blue Oyster Cult and Iggy & the Stooges.

Was I ever in a Boston band called TV EYE? No. But I do live in San Diego and found a test pressing of Radios Appear at the swap meet! The guy had no idea who the band was but knew it was a special piece. I couldn't talk him down ... so I shelled out $40 for it. When I photographed the band at their American debut in L.A, I had Younger and Tek sign it. I also stole the sign to their dressing room at the end of the show (hey, no one was there, so it had served its purpose).

Can't believe this has chopped off the incredible drumming intro... Ron Keeley's finest moment. And every time I drive past the Marratville pub I curse that I was too young to see this legendary gig. Luckily the ABC filmed it for posterity.

Incredibly good music, love it. I bought the album at Platenmanneke in Breda, round 1980. Because I liked the cover. Now 37 years later, still love it. Magnificant sound.

This was the era of real aussie rock n roll, listen to those buzz saw guitars. I know a couple of brothers who were at this gig and they reckon that half the crowd ended up outside because of the volume

Antipodean33 Yeah, I did notice one young lady with her hands over her ears there, hahaha! Must admit to feeling jealous I wasn’t there. Still, they’re playing England this year, so fingers crossed !

did anyone ever use this song in a surfing vid, a wave-riding sequence? Good for big waves and the maelstrom around the impact zone; the endzone!

With all due respect, I'm not sure that Deniz Tek was ever considered to be Mick Taylor's replacement (although I could be wrong). Perhaps you're confusing this story with another one? According to their biography, Tek once sold a guitar to Keith Richards in the early 70s when the Stones played Detroit. As a sidenote, Tek worked at the San Diego Naval Hospital as a surgeon after leaving the band (and becoming a fighter pilot).
