Radio Contacts to FL and TX with iCOM 718 at 45 and 75 Watts

Lately have really enjoyed using the simple iCOM 718 as a portable HF radio using 12 volt battery packs and dipole antenna. This radio is indeed under-rated for portable and general use. It does not have all the bells and whistles that an expensive rig may have, but it does have features that are worth the small price of around 600 bucks.

hi just geting my 1st HF radio next week a icom718 they look like good radios 2E0CUV from the uk tell me do they have a built in ATU ?

+keith rice Thanks for watching. I use the LDG z100 since the 718 does not have a built-in tuner. However, I many times use antennas cut to the band I'm using, so I do not worry much about tuning. 73 and hope to catch you on the air! Best regards! Wil (AI4QT)
