Radio Free Birdland Episode 49 Coltrane Revisited

In celebration of John Coltrane's 95th birthday, Radio Free Birdland presents, "Coltrane Revisited," with Tenor Saxophonists Eric Alexander and Donny McCaslin and Drummer Steve Smith. Reminiscent of the most adventurous Impulse! recordings of the 1960's, this 50-minute improvised suite, constructed from themes composed by or associated with John Coltrane, reveals the boundless creativity of the performers as well as the depth of the source material.

This was in 2020 when Covid closed Birdland so they asked me to do a stream. I have been doing Coltrane Revisited in the Main Room Every Year since 2001 with a Who's Who in the band, Quartet, Quintet, Sextet....
