I have restored over 1000 radios so far, and continuing. At one time I had over 300 radios. It was so unreasonable that I cut the number to 110 plus. That's enough to have a fantastic variety! I wish this guy lived next foor!

I love the old stuff. I have my Dads radio from WW2 that he took overseas. It still works but not so good.

I remember those days, and worked on a lot of vacuum tube equipment in the Air Force. I witnessed the transition from tubes to silod state devices and their evolution to digital equipment. I miss the old vacuum tube days.

My father-in-laws family radio from the early 40’s was a Motorola. A 90 volt / 1.5 volt battery operated radio people called a “farm radio”. I wired 10 ea household 9 volt batteries in series to make the 90 volts and a regular “D” cell battery for the 1.5 volts. Bought a couple of vacuum tubes on EBay and BAM, she fired up! Sat in a swing by the river and listed to the Grand Old Opry.

I remember the floor model radio my mom used to have in the living room. She would listen to jazz and Big Band music on it. It was stolen out of our storage unit when my dad was stationed to Germany. We lost everything; furniture from Japan, the radio, television, et cetera. That was sad. I wonder if Mr. Campbell might have an old model of the radio my mom had because I would buy it and treasure it.

I love them old radios like he’s working on. Now if he could just make them play the music from the era and announcements that radio was made that would be great too. Those radios were considered furniture back in the day to some it was a luxury item to own.
