Saw your Optoscan 456 sticker on one of your 2006's. I have a 2006 with that board that I installed. Do you know of any software (Scancat, Probe) that will run the radio?

Hi Rob, I am not familiar with the software. Since these were popular there may be some user groups out there that can help you. With so many services going digital , these have lost much of their utility. I use mine mainly for receiving Ham Radio signals.

It appears that the OS456 add-on board has been removed from the shown radio. The OS456 had a board that you would remove some of the internal cables and make a couple soldered connections. There was also an interface module that one would put where the 9V battery holder resided, this had a DB-9 and a C-iv connector. That would then require the user to relocate the 9v memory battery inside the radio or install an external clip (my solution). They made OS456 boards for the PRO2004, 2005 and 2006 scanners and similar OS535 boards for the PRO2035 and 2042. If the OS456 board is still present try and find a copy of Probe, it was the best program for these radios! It ran in DOS, but it was a great logging package, I used it for spectrum management back in the day. OptoElectronics also made a standalone version called the OptoScan that (with the optional BitBanger feature) would allow one to track the Motorola and EDACS trunking systems that dominated the business in the late 80's, 1990s and early 2000's.
