KYLE was in Temple, not Bryan. Its studios were in the Kyle Hotel. The station was later acquired by crosstown KTEM and renamed KPLE, the combined calls spelling out the city. It subsequently was sold and moved to Taylor, where it became an Austin rimshot (presently KLQB). However, there is now KYLE-TV in Bryan, a sister station to Waco's Fox affiliate KWKT and named after Texas A&M's football stadium Kyle Field. Temple, Bryan and Waco are all in the same TV market. KWHB modeled some of its jingles after KJR Seattle Channel 95.
