Two nice radios, Gilles, indeed! The filter unfortunately just can't properly filter 5995 KHz on the Icom IC R8500! Kudos to the Tecsun H-501X for its price & performance on picking up Radio TV Mali! The Kenwood R-5000 filtering was good overall but cosmetically I personally like the appearance of the Icom! Thank you...

Of course an SDR like the RSP products can shape the passband at will, with multiple notches! Amazing what can be done today.
