4:40 instead of doing that, you could put the car in neutral and be sure to put on the breaks and chock the wheels. Then just slide the facia down a little.

Where did you buy the harness. I’m looking to bus the same. Thanks
@mainervlogs68333 жыл бұрын
Hey! When I bought the radio is was an option I had selected when ordering it to have the harness done. I’m not sure if they sell it separately or if you have to order it when you buy a unit
@EricDoesMineCraft4 жыл бұрын
Do you know if the stock radio screen can be used as an info or trip display still? Also, do the steering wheel controls work with the new radio?
@mainervlogs68334 жыл бұрын
The info screen cannot be used once you put in the new radio, the buttons on the steering wheel can work with the radio but you have to buy an adapter to make it work with the new radio

@silas94353 жыл бұрын
so at 6:34 you say theres one chord for the power and one chord for the radio- whats the third smaller chord? also, do you need to plug in that radio chord? i dont have anything on my headpiece or harness to plug it into.
@silas94353 жыл бұрын
also, what harness did you buy?
@mainervlogs68333 жыл бұрын
Hey! So the third smaller cord is for the info screen above the radio. If you don’t need radio you don’t need to but you should have (based on when mine looked like) a round plug that goes into the back of the unit and then it goes to the plug I mentioned. It’s separate from the harness I believe. As for the harness there wasn’t a specific one I got, it was an option when ordering from crutchfield

Gotta question for you. Actually a couple. I have an 07 Sentra like you, very much in consideration of replacing the stereo head unit with something Android based, but I have 178k on it and I'm not sure if I want to put THAT much expense into the car that I'm probably not going to get out of the car when I sell/trade it. So, what I NEED to do is figure out how to replace the antenna since it's been busted since I got the car last year. The problem being that not only is the antenna shaft itself gone, but I'm not sure how much below the shaft is damaged. I just don't want to tear it up any worse than it is, so could you please show in a video about what you ARE supposed to be replacing? Other than that, great video, great amount of details you show, I really appreciate it. The other pertinent question is this: When replacing the head unit, do you have to use a computer interface module to replace the functions that the car computer and factory stereo work together with in some way like on a lot of GM vehicles? I had to do this with my 2001 Olds Alero and it STILL didn't work correctly after the new head unit and module were in place, so I don't like dealing with that issue... Anyway, thanks again for your video. I really appreciate how much effort you took showing us the proper breakdown. One hint: Instead of removing the shift knob, if you put the car into neutral and set the parking break, chocking the wheels, you don't have to worry about the shift knob being in the way and you can still unscrew the screws that particular panel is hiding.
@mainervlogs68334 жыл бұрын
Hey man, so the only thing i’m actually replacing is the head unit, I don’t do anything with replacing the antenna. And as far as doing something with the computer all I have done was replace the head unit and haven’t had anything weird happen or have something not work. The only thing that doesn’t work anymore is the volume control and radio control on my steering wheel, for that you would need to get something for those to work. Thanks for the feedback too! I really appreciate it

@@mainervlogs6833 You're quite welcome! As I probably said, I really enjoyed your video. Very good job on it. Unfortunately I'm no longer driving Smurfette, she ate a deer and really bit off more than I could chew. She's now in the very capable hands of my friend who CAN take care of her, though, and he's going to be doing upgrades similar to what you did. In fact, great timing on responding to my response - he just told me the other night when we were driving around looking at the lights around our hometown (Hutchinson, Kansas.) Anyway, I now have a 2004 Dodge Caravan that I will soon be upgrading with an Android based stereo - hopefully with my friend's help! - and also installing some other equipment at or around the same time. God bless and be safe! Enjoy your festivities!

My car doesn’t say Rockford Fosgate on the radio itself but there’s what I assume is an amp under the drivers seat. Is there anything different that I need to do if I plan on installing 2 amps. One for subwoofer and one for 4 channels

is there any way to get the little orange display above to coexist with the screen?
