Maester Cressen was so compassive, kind and brave. He appeared in like one chapter, but I must admit that I cried when Melisandre killed him. Poor naive old man.

While I know this will sound and read as supremely trivial , I will say this about Renly, in the book he was my favorite light hearted dark horse that shares my own affection for the company of gentlemen, and in the show, he was hands down the most attractive of the lot. As much as some may love him , or hate him, we would be hard pressed to find another character that has played his role so beautifully in service of moving the plot forward.

As a long time Team Renly fan in the war of the five kings thank you so much for doing such an informative and really well presented episode. This is certainly a unique topic that I haven't heard discussed any where else! Thanks for your wonderful podcasts overall, I only recently discovered you guys and I have been hooked and as a mom who has podcasts on during the day while I clean thanks for keeping it pretty PG(well as PG as ASOIAF can be), my 4yr old son is a tiny Radio Westeros fan as well!

Great video! And great catch on Renly wearing Tyrell colors as a tribute to Loras, I didn't think much of it at first but that makes a lot of sense! Lots of people either believe that Renly was a Tyrell puppet, or that the Tyrells were being used by Renly for his own ambition - but I think the far more likely answer is that they were allies in a mutually beneficial relationship. Renly is an orphan not especially close to his family - the Tyrells kind of informally "adopted" him. And yeah I'm commenting a year later but do I care? Nooo!

Robert giving Stannis Dragonstone not Storm's End seems much more reasonable when you think: Why would you want to rule over a place where you were forced to eat rats to survive??? Dragonstone is gloomy but Storm's End should be downright depressing for Stannis.

Radio Westeros Thanks for the reply! For the past couple of years I've probably listened to your Sansa and the Sandor vid a dozen times by now I just love them and its because of those episodes. You guys were THE catalyst of my sansan obsession! What I love about your work is the quality of analysis, rich, without tin foilery though I do love those too! I really enjoy your readings! Loved the Varamir episode! GRRG is amazing in his writing ofcourse we all know this but you guys point it out on a new light. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your colaborations with others!

I am a Stannis fan, but Renly should have followed his Brother's example and went on to Storm's End leaving Storm's End under siege. He couldn't know that Stannis had magical means to end it quickly. But he could have seized the throne first. Okay, shit, I made this comment 12 minutes into the video and then you go and address the same point two hours later, not fair! Sad. lol

Exactly! He modeled himself on Robert in so many ways, but his pride got in the way of that final decision :(

To be honest I'm not very fond of Renly, but I feel bad for him. He was an overconfident, pretentious, handsome, cynical, charming fool, playing war like if it was a children's game. That doesn't mean he deserved to be murdered by a scary shadow of his own brother. It makes me sad that brothers would stab each other in the back. So sad. At least he was loved.

With every new podcast I grow more and more surprised that there hasn't been any episodes for Bran. Even if he isn't as popular he still has an important role. Is there a reason for that?
@RadioWesteros7 жыл бұрын
Yes there is. We'll be covering Bran, and Tyrion for that matter, after TWoW is released. At one time it seemed like that was going to happen sooner than later and it would be wise to hold off on those two characters whose arcs are bound to see major development early in the next book. Ever the optimists, we're sticking with the same plan for now.
@jjochems7 жыл бұрын
Now I'm even more surprised that I forgot that Tyrion doesn't have his own episode. That makes sense. You guys do great work. You somehow manage to make the characters even more interesting than they are off the page. For instance, I wasn't too excited by the prospect of a Ned Stark episode but managed to give him more dimension than I thought he had. So now when you cover other characters I might not be so invested in, I trust that you will manage to find ways for me to appreciate those characters more.
