You guys are so reserached and knowledgeable. You guys and history of westeros are the most knowledgeable casts out there. Been a huge fan for years now. Great job!! Thank you!

You torturers, first you mock us with your quiz, filled with unknowable questions, more a kin to the tickler than a test, and now with your cutting insights into seemingly understood events to fill us again with more questions, each like a bucket of rats on the belly..... Ok so in all seriousness, I hadn't even thought of chronological requisite for actions in the way that you delineate actionable events with regard to one another. Genius. Tywin understanding the approach of conflict is not at all surprising but him planning as evidenced by how quickly he is able to transition from no threat to actionable active threat is an amazing insight. It has genuinely made me rethink a great deal, and I can't tell you how much fun that has been since I watched this the first time. I love it. And let me just say this, there are channels/podcasts for ASOIAF that are good, some are bad, most are a little of both and a great deal are neither, and in a slue of good company this channel puts out content I genuinely enjoy every moment of. I have never listened to a podcast before and said, ..." ahh it's only 2 hours".

Thanks so much! We're very glad that you appreciate the approach. We hoped to present something fresh that wasn't a mere rehash of events and it turned out to be more difficult than you might think to sort things into the proper order. But having done so, we think there are some interesting insights to be gained. So thanks for listening, enjoying, engaging... it means a lot! :)

Lady Gwyn, you've done it again. Your reading of Cat's plea for peace is perfect. An amazing blend of mournful and wistful. You played it exactly right without overdramatizing it. I feel like you guys are a big part of a more sympathetic opinion of Cat in the fandom. Thanks for the great work.

Thank you so much for this and all you other amazing analyses, the amount of work you put into them is simply unbelievable Your dedication is much appreciated and deserves the highest praise! You have been my constant companions though re-reads and GRRM should definitely feel proud that his multifaceted world is still sparking this much love. That said, even while tackling this immense amount of material, you still manage to make it entertaining from start to finish. Walder Frey, Lord of the Crossing, after inviting us to a party in his hall, as a "show of good faith", and saying "No need to bring wine, the red will flow" had me do a double take and laugh out loud. :)) Genius!

Question from someone who hasn't read the books (I know, I know. It's been a crazy year & I have every intention of listening to the famous audiobooks while I do a ton of traveling). This question is open to anyone. Why is Walder Frey mocked and called "The Late Lord Frey" for joining RR when Tywin is held in the utmost respect (for a person who sacked the capital and ordered the rape & murder of a princess and her children)? Tywin didn't join the Rebellion until the war was all but decided but he's not held in the same contempt as walder frey. Can someone help explain this to me?
@egalmohamoud64787 жыл бұрын
amazing episode. One thing tho Ned is a perfect example of not minding your own business. Why would you go out of your way for Robert Baratheon when he doesn't even have your back or care about his kingship? Ned risked everything for his "friend" that didn't even do anythign to help him after his leg was broken

Yet another excellent episode. I've been listening to it over the last 2 evenings. I'm glad that with this and the future episode(s), we'll finally have a concise recollection of the war of the five kings from an overarching perspective, as I've only been through it linearly through the books. Will the second part be the last, or will this be going on much longer? Thank you for all your videos by the way, I've loved every one.

The proof Robert was killed by Cersei via Lancel (though with a plot that is quite lame, but in pure Cersei fashion) is in AFFC, when in a Jaime POV we find Lancel having his religious conversion, so it's not just Varys making up Ned's mind. Awesome podcast, btw! :)
