Shiner Bock and Dos Equis for me. Starlink could be a huge game changer. "What's the worst that could happen" Probably one of my favorite sayings. Except the time we ended up sinking a boat in the middle of Aransas Bay a mile or so off the coast of Rockport, Texas at midnight. Yep, true story but we lived to tell the tale. We cooked pork chops and brussel sprouts on our portable propane campfire at Merus Adventure Park. Worked as good as any heat source for cooking.

My wife currently works in the nuclear power industry here in Michigan but the plant she's at will soon be decommissioned. Solar and wind are not really a replacement option here so not sure where the state thinks it will make up the lost power generation from. Even the "green carbon free" anti-nuke activists are realizing that the alternatives are far worse. Don't get me wrong I'm not against alternative power sources in fact I have a solar system at the house and love the direction battery tech is going but I'm also a realist and our power demand is only growing. I think we as a country should be investing more into the nuclear industry not less.
@LifestyleOverland2 жыл бұрын
I'm a big supporter of a even 3 way split between solar/wind, fossil fuels, and nuclear power generation. There are some great balanced studies out there on the concept. My concern right now is the quick shift to electric vehicles without grid preparation... Especially with weather patterns causing unpredictable power consumption to offset extreme highs and lows. I have high hopes for the SMR technology in development now to bridge that gap.
@michaelharris14552 жыл бұрын
I would agree, but a larger portion of the investment would have to be in disposal of the waste; Carlsbad is a prime example of the short comings in that area.
@rtwatson782 жыл бұрын
I agree that SMRs would be great especially with the molten salt option. I would also like to see innovation in the reuse of "spent fuel" to the point that storage is a non-issue. Thankfully this isn't the movies and there are no barrels of glowing green ooze being discarded in the woods but I do understand the concern of these facilities being in our communities. That being said SMRs may be a sweeter pill to swallow and convince skeptics that a smaller impact on an area can provide clean energy and great paying jobs.

Kevin, so many questions to ask? I will limit it to a few. 1, Your opinion on the Hankook Tires? 2. Would you ever consider doing a spread sheet on the approximate mileage of the repairs, parts replacements and kit recommendations for 5th Gen Toyota 4Runners??? I have asked a time or three. I take your information quite literally. Recently, I replaced my ICON Dynmaics Upper control arms with the JBA Offroad. Upper control arms. A huge improvement and no further creaky joint sounds from the Upper UCA bushings. Despite lubrication every 5K miles. I thank you for any and all information you're willing to share. Kind Regards to the family and you. Cheers, Mate.

Can you tell me about the tires and rims on your rig. I have a 2018 4Runner and have the stock TRD rims on it. It seems they should be a wider rim. I have 285/70R17 on it with a TOYTEC lift.

I have a question that is off topic for this video. I’m looking to buy a 22 4Runner off road premium with kdss and want to go off-roading and was wondering what size tires and lift you have on your 4Runner? I’m not looking to do extreme rock crawling just something that will be reliable and do easy to moderate trails. Your opinion will be greatly appreciated. I’m also trying to keep my factory warranty so the dealer is looking into those options for me. Love your channel Ron

Have you tried the Zoleo satellite system? I find it very reasonable and a great tool for both safety communication and the ability to communicate when you want to plus it will provide a good internet Wi-Fi function in addition to cell coverage - the monthly subscription options are good and you can pause the subscription when you are not using for any period of time. No contract. If you have done a review on this I apologize - have not seen it yet. Still looking through all your content.

When you air down, do you attach those Staun deflators and then start driving while they deflate? Or do you always wait and check your pressure before continuing down the trail?
@LifestyleOverland2 жыл бұрын
99% of the time we wait until their done. I don't check pressures since we have gotten pretty good at knowing we're close just by looking at the tire.
@stauntyredeflators1352 жыл бұрын
We highly recommend completing your airdown before driving. The risk is a foreign object (branch, rock, etc) coming in contact with a spinning deflator would likely damage your deflator and even more critically, your valve stem. The good news is our deflators gush air so fast, by the time you apply Staun on the forth tire, the first one is nearly complete and ready for removal. Happy trails!
@steveegbert74292 жыл бұрын
@@LifestyleOverland Same here. By the time I am done screwing on the deflators, the first one is just about done. When I get to the air down point of my trip, the last thing I worry about is hurry!
