Good luck with the 80a. I've had four different Avian 80a units fail completely on me, including that exact setup you're using on the Cub.

Hey, I remember having a conversation on the thread with you. Ya the 80A failed but I replaced it with a Castle 100. No problems since!

Very interesting. :) i own a carbon cub s+ its now running a 100amp esc and the motor from the v900. Now thats a beast! ;) I had to change all screws holding the wing supports to bigger threads and it ripped the nose off on full throttle. The prop was out of balance and cracked the foam lol. Love to see ppl modify these things ;) great video

Hello! I’m sorry to awaken an old video comment thread but I just completed this exact swap on my cub with the Avian 100. However, when I install the prop collect adapter my spinner back plate is now rubbing on my cowl. Did you encounter this? If so, how did you fix it?

I believe I just shimmed out the prop shaft by a very small amount - ~1mm

Which prop size do you use now with the 60 size Motor?

Sorry, sold the plane and can't remember. I think it was an inch or 2 more in diameter.

Would you recommend the smart esc today? I need to change the esc on my Carbon z cub ss.

My spektrum esc fried, I went castle and should have done that from the start.

I have the old blue carbon z cub and the motor finally gave out so can this e-flite power 60 work in my blue carbon z cub? Will the mount still work like yours did? The bl50 is out of stock everywhere.
@RCexplained2 жыл бұрын
I can't say for sure as I do not own that version. I would expect you should be able to make the power 60 work if I was able to. But can't confirm this.

@@RCexplained Could I use the E-flite 60-Size Brushless Outrunner Motor: 500Kv, EFLM1315 ? It is a little different.
@RCexplained2 жыл бұрын
No idea. I only have the power 60. I'm sure you can figure out how to modify to make it work. If you aren't confident, visit a forum.

@@RCexplained do you use Futaba? Or RadioMaster…?
@RCexplained Жыл бұрын
@itzjoeylo4501 I'm using a radiolink radio for an rc car project.

@@RCexplained awesome anything other than Spectrum, I refuse to buy any of their products because I’ve had them before with issue after issue. So when I got back to the hobby I settled for the additional cost of Futaba and haven’t had any issues since. Just about to pick up a new Digital FPV setup w/ head tracking from American Drones in Moore Oklahoma on a AtomRC Killer Whale platform. With a RadioMaster 16 channel transmitter Very excited

Interesting I've owned more than half dozen radios from spektrum and never had concerning issues.

CunningLinguist01 - Did you use a bolt on prop adapter to keep your prop assembly on or did you use the stock collet?
@CunningLinguist012 жыл бұрын
@@samellis246 bolt on for sure the 60 with a 17 Inch prop is way more power than stock. The eflite bl 60 came with the bolt on.
