Great video , Thanks I will be using you guys in my venture. I'm in the US is it any different in the U.K Then here in the States?
@Radiodotco6 жыл бұрын
Both the US and UK radio markets are quite different, but share similarities in terms of show structure and music. I recommend checking out the Radio.co University for some help guides: radio.co/radio-university/ We offer both iPhone and Android apps. Reach a wider audience by getting your station on both, here's how: radio.co/radio-university/app-builder

Was just viewing your website. 1 question: What is the cost of using music? I know royalties have to be paid. Is this something that is covered in the Cost of your Plans? ok that was 2 questions
@Radiodotco5 жыл бұрын
We don't cover royalties. It's up to the broadcaster to make sure they have the proper licensing, for more info check out: radio.co/blog/stream-licensing-explained

Question: would you still need to consider royalties when using commercial music, even if the radio is a non-profit?
@Radiodotco4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the countries you're broadcasting to and a few other factors (listener numbers, how often you play commercial music, etc). When it comes to licensing there's no definitive answer, so I recommend contacting your local government to help you get where you need to be.

If the artist you are playing is affiliated with ASCAP, BMI or any publishing companies you have to pay royalties.

do your stations support in India? I recently setup a station in radionomy and when i tested the streaming link, it said " this station is not available in your country". They have geolocked it.

Stations hosted with Radio.co are available worldwide, so you shouldn't have a problem in India. Get started today with your 7 day free trial: radio.co/pricing

Is there a deal where we can pay a copyright payment somewhere and then play any artist we like?

can i broadcast live without a sound card?
@Radiodotco6 жыл бұрын
No, you need a soundcard to process audio. Most computers, like Macs, have built-in internal soundcards. Got another question? Why not talk with us over the phone by booking a demo: radio.co/book-a-demo

Correct me if I'm wrong, but why would someone pay for a server since you need your pc to run 24/7 anyway to stream to this server???? Just make your PC the server people. Lmao.
@Radiodotco3 жыл бұрын
Go for it. But it's a bit difficult though, and you've got server costs, maintenance, and what happens when your server goes down? Plus, how are you sharing your station? Apps? Smart skills? Again, if you're clued up on this stuff then go for it, if not then we might be able to help. Speaking of which, free advice: radio.co/radio-university/how-to-start-an-internet-radio-station
