I am a retired Electronic Technician with many years of experience. including radio communication. To start with the TV signals are transferred to the homes with shielded grounded cables and the chance of his HF transmission affecting them is so remote as to not be calculable. His antenna match would have to be so far off that his range would be very short indeed. His radio transmissions are not causing cancer. That is the assumption of someone totally ignorant of the facts. These are just a bunch of ignorant paranoid old busybodies that have nothing better to do than to stick their noses in other peoples business.

If she believes that she got sick from the radio waves originating from the antenna, than she should also believe that she got sick 10 times more from her transistor-tube television, by sitting near to it! (which is also impossible....) I just assume all these old ladies had "vacuum-tube television", since they were claiming that the antenna interfered with their TV. We all know that antenna would not interfere with a cable TV, especially not with a digital TV. Though, on second thought, I don't remember seeing any other antenna on people's roof, so those old-brats might have had cable TV after all. LOL

Stressing over something as mundane and innocuous as ham radio antennas will cause far more health problems than ham radio RF emissions, which is highly unlikely causing any health related issues directly. Keeping in mind the aging population is going to be far more susceptible to health related issues just because of aging. Add unwarranted stress to the mix, and you may become ill. If anything, his neighbors should welcome his presence, especially when the SHTF event occurs. Who are they going to run to when their TV's, radios, cell phones, etc. stop working? Armando.

His neighbours wanted that aerial gone only because they thought it was an eyesore to them. Unfortunately, "It is an eyesore" is not a good enough reason for it to be taken down. And you can tell his neighbours were just mudslinging because they were falling for the fallacy of correlation equaling causation.

I’ve found this quite disturbing, a busy body involved herself bullied the man and then decided to get a petition together to get her own way. Putin would be proud of her antics. The radio ham did everything right, planning permission etc. The council are a disgrace also for allowing this man to be bullied and then offering a complete lame excuse to revert his planning permission. Talk about freedom these people should be ashamed of themselves.

I've seen estimates as much as half of all people have some sort of brush with cancer in their lifetime.So you can blame it on anything you like if you're not going to use any evidence. Besides an amateur station doesn't have anywhere near enough power to do anything physiological, i guess you could get a shock if you touched it, but it's still unlikey to cause any real harm.
