A moon shaped pool depicts astoundingly good the beautiful side of sadness. When youre sad is also when your more intricate, thoughtful and even, id say, is when youre the purest, because this emotion removes the filters we often have sorrounding life and mundane situations. In that moment we are in the perfect present tense, just there, and anywhere else.

Also there's quite some 'old' material used in here, and people who love the early versions of some songs had all sorts of reactions to the final studio versions. For instance, Identikit was definitely one of my favorite Radiohead songs since the first time they played it out of nowhere in the first concert of the 2012 tour. And as time passed by, it had gown even more in me. I anxiously waited for 4 yeas for the studio version and the first time I heard it I was like 'WTF is happening here????'. Tinker Tailor etc is a grower. It was originally one of the 2 songs on the album that weren't "winners" to me, along with Desert Island Disk. But now I look forward to it every time. The extended outro is super-duper good. And the sound palette of the whole song is incredibly interesting.

The king of limbs is a weird listen, I would recommend listening to the from the basement version after listening to the actual album. Many (including me) changed their opinion on the album after listening to it!

The King of Limbs now!! It's my favorite album but i'm sure you'll hate it, it's their least accessible one.

Totally agree with most of your opinions on this album, except on True Love Waits, which I've never really felt as much as some people seem to. If You never have already then you really should try to see Radiohead live. Believe it or not, some of their songs genuinely work more as a showpiece with an audience than they do on headphones in your house. lol Thom is a very odd but extremely professional and endearing frontman and they are a phenomenally good live act. It gets addictive though. I've seen them 7 times since 2003.

This album is quintessential Radiohead, it’s unbelievably beautiful from start to finish, doesn’t let up on the sadness and depth of the lyrics, but also doesn’t let up on the beauty of all the music.

Definitely one of my fav albums, even with the softer more organic touch. I'm so glad that Radiohead are still putting out amazing records after their "prime"

The most emotional part about Present Tense is that he's trying to remind himself to stay in the present. When faced with loss this is the most difficult prospect. It's like your legs are taken out from under you when you lose someone and you have no grounding. You try to pay tribute to your feelings, your memories. He has to keep moving, the music carries him through. He's trying to find the redeeming qualities in the loss as devastating as it may be. He's still lost in her no matter what he does, but he's trying to let go. This song nails the grief process and all the conflicting yet sublime feelings.

The Numbers was the song that caught my attention the most when i first heard the album. Still my favourite, followed by Present Tense, and Decks Dark. The entire album is so good. Great reaction.

Great job! Just wanted to add to the crowd -- you should try Amnesiac next! It's very experimental, opened me wide up to IDM music way back when. Knives Out is great

Wow felt like I was listening again for the first time. This guy did a terrific job, loved his commentary. I share his exact thoughts on everything except True Loves Waits! That one never got there for me
