Storytime fellas The year was 2003, probably the time between July to September. The clock was ticking 1am. And the music video of There, there was playing on MTV. I was a 3 year old kid, and upon seeing this video I was quite confused and had a very unexplainable feeling probably due to the kind of visuals it showed. So as a confused kid I asked my dad what this song and what is happening in the video, my dad just made up a story that the guy in the video stole clothes and boots of someone so he was punished by God or something to become like a tree. And that's how it ended, I never got to know about the name of the music and the band who made it. But this video gave me a very unsettling feeling as a kid, and for 17 years I just couldn't forget that. It was like sealed into my memory forever, a vivid memory of a very unsettling song with strange music. After 17 years (2020) I started using KZbin more frequently than ever, by this time I thought that vivid memory about that "unsettling song" was just maybe a dream or a made up memory in my head and suddenly one night a thought struck my head that what if the memory wasn't fake or made up or a dream. What if the memory was real. So I started searching on youtube with words that went like "music video with a man turning into a tree", "old music video of a man turning into a tree", "guy steals clothes and boots and turns into a tree music video". And after a few weeks of searching with keywords like these and going through like 80 - 100 videos I finally landed on this video. And while I was watching the music video the song and the video itself started giving me the same unnerving feeling which I had 17 years ago. And I felt like I was back in 2003 in my old home with the CRT TV that was playing this song at 1am. And after the video ended I started to do more research on this band (Radiohead) and found out it defines all the insecurities and problems I have, through their music. 17 years later I found something that was unnerving to me as a kid but now it gives me a feeling like I found a lost friend. Thank you Radiohead for making great timeless music that helped and still helps me through bad days.

I have a story like this about a Peter Gabriel music video in 86 called sledgehammer. I was 4 years old and I was always mesmerized by the stop animation and then at the end he dresses into this black head to toe outfit with glowing dots on it like stars on a night sky back drop. And my dad would see me run and hide every time that ending came because it unnerved me to no end. To this day I still love that song and the artist but that music video near the end spooks the young me. Lol

I’m 17 years old, and this is my favourite Radiohead song. Arguably my favourite song at the moment. I remember the first time I heard this song, I was a moderate Radiohead fan at the time. It didn’t exactly catch my ear straight away but with like many Radiohead songs the more you listen to them the more captivating and ethereal they begin to sound. Radiohead are easily my favourite band right now, even Spotify says so… 🥰

Their opening of Glastonbury 2003 with this song was demonstrative of how great this song is. An impeccable rising of tension, to crescendo, to cool ease-off. Had the massive swelling crowd in their pocket by the first song. Any nervousness in the band was thoroughly dissipated into the sweet night air.

happens a lot with them im noticing. I fell in love with radiohead sometime around 2003, listened to I might be wrong live album more times then I can remember. Then I just moved on to different music. Got back into them around 2010, listened for a few then wanted more "happier" music and moved on again. Then 2016 happened and youtube suggested a song by them while I was comin off of a break up, and BOOM, I more of a fan now then I ever was. They just grow on you.

In 2:27 Thom looks over the dining animals. I like to interpret it as a need for belonging which cannot be satisfied. Thom wants to be part of something, but he can't, as he's looking from "outside". It's the best part of the video clip, as the song goes "Just cause you feel it , Doesn't mean it's there" and you have this very sad yet warm feeling.

This song may or may not represent depression and anxiety. You feel that you have no control over the injustices of the world. All your thoughts become obsessed with an issue you have zero control over. You feel disconnected from your life that it feels like you’re stuck. Once he becomes a tree, he’s trapped on those negative, cynical memories that are represented by crows. As you can see on his face.

This song is about Thom's dream. Sadly, when he woke up, the dream was gone. He felt it was with him, but in reality, it was just a dream. Just because you feel like, doesn't mean it is there with you. And if you choose to believe that dream was real, then you will die in reality, meaning walking disaster and shipwreck. This MV is about Thom choosing to live inside of his dream, and slowly dying. Thom cried after the first recording of this song in the studio.
