I mean, at least he reached that point of being aware of it and how it isn't a good thing, and he actually tried (and succeeded) to stop. Maybe he didn't do it from the very beginning of Radiohead's career, but I like this video because it shows that he still stopped over 20 years ago now. Noel still bitches about *everything* and *everyone* to this day. And Noel's highly-inflated opinions of himself... I mean, he's great. He's not the best, but he's great. But he hasn't really made anything truly "great" since the '90s. Some of the later Oasis records were pretty good, and his solo discography is nice, but Radiohead have pumped out a pretty damn consistent amount of "great" records *since* the '90s. Noel feels like the kind of person who would normally want to appear to be that "modest but great" musician, but is afraid that if *he* stops talking about how genius he is, then everyone else will too. Of course, it doesn't quite work like that. It's just annoying when he sits down at an interview, and his arrogance and narcissism completely supersedes his actual reputation. I'm not here to laugh about Oasis, or nothing like that. Yorke sure has its own reasons to make this awful version of Wonderwall. He doesn't have a good relationship with the band, that's why they performed like this on a local radio station.. Noel and Liam are not such good boys, they had fights with almost every indie, alternative english rock band during the 90's. I don't like the way they are, but, it's their own private life. I can't do much about it. They're, of course, pretty good musicians. In my PERSONAL OPINION, Radiohead is one of the most advanced rock bands of all time. They are probably the Pink Floyd of our era..

When Radiohead keeps trying new stuffs in their albums (everything is in its right place thay was released in the early 2000 has many sonorities used in today's music that were pretty unusual back then), Oasis evoluated in the same style. It's only on their last album they really tried new stuffs. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Oasis and I grew up with their music, I saw them 4 times in concert. They are my favourite band. The one that speaks to me the most. But Radiohead has this quality and this cleverness that Oasis lacked sometimes.

Some Dude you realise oasis have used different progressions other than the standard ones? You should actually listen to their b sides and more lesser known tracks. The likes of listen up which is a b side, makes use of a c augmented chord and there’s of course other examples but that’s just one. Oasis also make frequent use of 7th chords as well as suspended ones. And what constitutes as emotional is subjective and pertains to the individual. Many people find a fair few of their songs to be emotional, like don’t go away. Of course it’s easy to cherrypick 2 songs to support your clearly biased view. Oasis songs do have some deep meaning to them if you actually bother looking at them. Yes some of them are pretty simple and have little to no deep meaning but they certainly have deep meanings in multiple of their songs. It’s just wrong to assume they don’t write songs with deeper meanings. And oasis have experimented with music on their 4th album which was an experimental psychedelic record mainly experimenting around synths, sitar, mellotrons and backwards guitars and different bass lines and different drum sounds. Unfortunately it didn’t work out and for their next two albums they did more or less stick to the same style, but they got more experimental again with their final record.

I don't know how people like Oasis. I'm not dismissive of the whole britpop thing in general. I mean even if I think he's a dick, Damon Albarn did eventually show that he was serious about doing something well. That's more than can be said for the Gallagher brothers, who have done nothing but front poorly disguised corporate bullshit their whole careers. Oasis was a mediocre pop band focused on the dream of number one chart hits and celebrity. That's about it. I believe that if any of their songs are half-decent, it's completely incidental. I completely concur on Radiohead being overrated. Their fanbase is really strange and the critics that admire them are even willing to pretend that Thom's solo work is not mediocre. I have no hangups on calling out The King of Limbs an extremely mediocre work and In Rainbows as the most inconsequential thing the band ever did. I love so much of what they did up to HTTT though (and now AMSP) but none of it is 10/10 material. I've never heard a 10/10 ever. People just love to suck the cocks of the bands they get cred for loving. That said, EVERYTHING that's popular and good to so many people is overrated. Usually somewhere between 10 to 1000 percent. Same exact thing goes for Oasis, which somehow had an impact outside of the UK with only one song. One of the most overrated songs of all time...just like Karma Police. Difference is I like Karma Police and Wonderwall is shit. You're welcome to like it though.

radiohead es una banda muy buena al igual que oasis la diferencia esk radiohead es mas deprimido que oasis algunas canciones pueden ser mejores que las de oasis pero oasis llego a ser mas grande que radiohead al sacar wonderwall radiohead no se escuchi mucho y ademas creep no la tocaron en el bbc diciendo que era muy deprimida

Alex Pimentel No, pero creo que es mucho más simple que eso, el impacto cultural y comercial de Oasis fue muchísimo más grande (y lo sigue siendo) que el de Radiohead y creo que eso es lo especial de Oasis, sin ser nada excepcional ni fuera de este mundo, llenaron de hitazos los 90, con los lograron tocar a muchísima pero muchísima gente, especialmente en Inglaterra donde el Morning Glory fue brutal, algo realmente brutal, se tocaba en todos lados, estaba siempre agotado, etc, y bueno, creo que eso es lo que los pone arriba con todas las otras bandas grande de la historia, mientras tanto Radiohead (que también está ahí arriba) se ganó su puesto con todo lo contrario, experimentación y salidas constantes de la zona de confort, con los que lograron unos tremendos álbumes con el Kid A, Ok computer o In rainbows

i love both radiohead and oasis. both bands have musical merit and i bet they secretly like each other. i grew up on oasis first 3 albums, after that i can take them or leave them. as for radiohead, i can honestly say i have not heard a single song by them that i havent loved, and i own pretty much all their stuff. brilliant :)

This is definitely Thom singing, and it is also definitely him mocking Oasis. The part where he sings "there are many ways that I would like to sing to you but I don't know how" is an obvious rip on gallagher's voice, and also, you can hear the longer version of this song where, at the end, another guy goes "it's always good to make fun of Oasis," and thom sarcastically goes "oh yeah, they don't mind it." So let there be no doubt-this is not a tribute, but a rip by one vastly superior band.
