As a deejay who started in 1998 I will tell you this now and this is my own personal experience and opinion. What she tells and shows you here is all you need to broadcast from your laptop. If you have a gaming headset with a built in mic it helps, the laptop built in mic will work though. Also blue tooth ear buds have a slight delay naturally. Here I will say something a lot of people may not like.. never use Virtual Dj as it has been my experience that the developers of said program spy on your use of said program and more. Its full of tricky trip falls.. I used it for 10 years before finally saying goodbye. Hope this saves you ten years. ps if your laptop is a newer type I suggest downloading NVIDIA BROADCAST to use in unison with MIXXX as it gives you virtual green screen and so much more.

I am completely new to Mixxx, and I have used a Speak over track while I talk. Does Mixxx allow us to do that, while fading the track during the time the DJ ques the mic? Or does the track stop playing completely during the time the mic is qued? Thank you in advance for your time to answer this question. God bless and keep you all safe. I can't wait to try this out. Hi there, thanks for the message! For now, I'm afraid that Mixx does not automatically lower the music if you choose to speak live on air. Your music will continue playing at the same volume. You could manually lower the volume of the track whilst speaking. Don't hesitate to contact the Mixxx team directly for more information!

@@RadiokingUSA Thank you so much for the reply! I tested it out live last night, and it seems the mic causes my voice to have a wobbly sound, or skips. Is there an FX setting that needs to be changed. I had the same problem in SAM and changed the FX setting, and it cleared right up. Is that an option in Mixxx? Also, is there a way for me to mute me hearing myself talk while I have the mic qued? Thank you again for your help!

Hi there! You can broadcast in Auto DJ mode, that is to say that the software will automatically broadcast the titles without you placing them on the decks. To do this select the titles you want to broadcast, you can select multiple titles by keeping the command key (on mac) or ctrl (on PC) pressed down. Next, make a right click then select Add to Auto DJ (you can choose if you want to add titles to beginning (top) at the end (bottom) of the list). Hope that helps!

To clarify, with Mixxx, your content will be broadcast live on the Internet. If you wish to record your live broadcast, you can activate this option in your Mixxx settings. Your live broadcast will save itself to your computer in MP3 format.
