Wayne, Enjoyed the is post. The 6 buttons are something I've wondered about on my TX16S. Looking forward to some wing flights as well. Happy Holiday's, enjoy the Powder Snow, easy on the knees and again, a well done review.

I remember the days when I tried to figure out the 6 position switch. Works good to change flight modes in the flight mode page. Back in the 70's you bought your 4 channel radio system . And you flipped and slammed the servo's and servo's leads into the reciever ,until the plane just worked right. No drama . Great days.....

Unless you are desperate for a new radio, it's hard to justify with the Ranger Module on it's way. It would have been great if RadioMaster had all their available radios released together and so you could choose the one that matched up right with you

I would like additional sliders on the shoulders like on the tx12. Otherwise it's the right choice for LongRange FixedWings i think
@CurryKitten2 жыл бұрын
I would have liked that as well so I could pan tilt without taking a hand off the sticks. I think in this radio they wanted something which didn't have any external bits that could be damaged in a backpack (at least not any that couldn't simply be covered with a gimbal protector)
@AerialWaviator2 жыл бұрын
Agree, would prefer to have lower sliders on the shoulders, even if it meant loosing the two upper variable position rotary knobs.

I understand you can swith from mode 2 to mode 1 in the software on this radio. But can you physically alter the gimbals to throttle right (ratcheting) and elevator / aileron on the left stick (self-centering)?
@CurryKitten Жыл бұрын
Yes - there's screws on the front of the radio so you can change from/to self-centering.

What were the vtx and antenna on the car? The video signal is quite good for penetration.

Can I ask something, can the boxer elrs version also flight on frsky? I'm new on this amazing world. Thanks
@CurryKitten Жыл бұрын
Not as it comes no. the ELRS version will just work with ELRS receivers. You can add a FrSky, or more likely, a multiprotocol module, to get other protocols, including FrSky, on the radio
@spigotnerd5374 Жыл бұрын
How did you setup the bluetooth? I don't see any option to enable it (and I am also using the radiomaster boxer in the elrs version)
@spigotnerd5374 Жыл бұрын
~Nvm, I found it~ Nope, I didn't xd, I see the menu but my pc doesn't recognize it, it did when I first tried, but it failed to bind and now it doesn't work at all. I have the EU version btw, idk if it matters
@CurryKitten Жыл бұрын
So you have probably gone into the ExpressLRS LUA script, gone to BLE Joystick and selected that option - which runs the Bluetooth. At this point it should appear in your PC's list of things it can connect ot, and you should be able to pair from there. If you are having weirdness, you might try and get your PC to "forget" the previous connection and try again
@spigotnerd5374 Жыл бұрын
@@CurryKitten It did appear in the PC's list only on the first try, but it failed to pair with it and now it even doesn't appear there at all. I also tried to check if it appears on my smartphone, but it also doesn't (but I sadly didn't check it on the first try when my pc was able to show it, because I didn't know there will be any problem) Edit: It magically started working with my phone, so there is probably a problem with my computer
@justvic3625 Жыл бұрын
does it support BLE joystick for sim? because I can't understand, they write on github that it doesn't support it, thanx

Yes - I test is in the video at around 13:55 There was an issue using BLE and Android (which I raised an issue with) but I think that's been fixed... I just haven't gone back to test it

That looks like the perfect radio! Are the gimbals further down than in the tx16s? That was one of my main issues with the tx16s - i solved it by using gimbal spacers, which might not fit here..
@CurryKitten2 жыл бұрын
I don't have a TX16, sorry - so I can't answer that one. Looking at how big the TX16 is though, it will definitely sit quite differently in the hands.

How do you swap the sticks for throttle on the right for RC car?
@CurryKitten Жыл бұрын
As in you want to use the right stick as is (sprung to centre) or you want to make the right stick non-sprung? The first instance, you just change the mix or plug in your servos to the appropriate channel. In the second instance, there's a screw on each side that makes the stick either spring to centre or not - so you can just adjust these.

Is your remote the FCC or LBT version?
@CurryKitten2 жыл бұрын
Technically it's neither, it's dependant on the ELRS firmware and you can tick a box for REGULATORY_DOMAIN_ISM_2400 (which is equivalent to FCC) or another for REGULATORY_DOMAIN_ISM_EU_CE_2400 (which at ELRS v3 or later does to LBT)
@gregorydahl2 жыл бұрын
If you use lbt setting it will automatically limit power setting to 25mW for 25 meter reliable radio control distance range . But 1 watt can go 3½ times as far for safety but your battery will go dead 40 times faster . And for only up to ½ hour use . Plus it runs a fan . Maybe 10 minutes use ?

Great fun video. Loved the wimsical hands-on section testing random RC. The video in the garage with RC car seemed like would have been ideal place to use a gimbal camera view. The 6-way switches seem very similar in functionality to the Tx16 model (just in a more practical location). The Eachine edition of the Tx16x did have the 6-way switches above the screen. Think it would be nice feature if RadioMaster placed a dimple on buttons 2, 4 of the 6 switches, like on F and J keys of a computer keyboard. This would be helpful for FPV pilots. Like you I'd prefer colour option for the lower 4-left screen buttons, or being backlighted. I tend to fumble more when setting up indoors as don't tend to have the radio in well lit area. FYI: left button is a "push-toggle" switch. ;)
