Managed to set up my Boxer today, and manually calibrated it in Liftoff using your other TX16S video. Still stuck in the beginning tutorials after an hour plus, and now I fully understand why everybody says it's important to clock hours in the sim first before attempting to fly an actual drone. Controls seem crazy sensitive (not sure if its a rates issue that I keep hearing about but does it apply to the sim game too?), but it's likely just me. Nevertheless, thank you for this video.

Thanks for the lesson. The main issue I had was working out where to find the internal RF module as in the instructions for my Boxer it says I could damage the controller if it was switched off. You have said it needs to be off for the simulator, so no need to worry about it. I see there is an internal and an external RF module from your video. Do both of these need switching on to fly a tiny whoop please? I don't intend to fly outside until I have some sim experience. Thanks again.
@the-happy-RC-flyer3 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, I am surprised the manual states not to turn off the internal module because if you have an externally module you would select which module you want to use. You can have both internal and external modules active if you were setting up a wireless buddy box system. I only have either module on. So to answer you question for your whoop only have the module you need active. I personally turn off the transmitters when using the radio for a simulator.
@stevemartin22743 ай бұрын
@@the-happy-RC-flyer Thanks for your reply. So, from what you have said, I would need external RF on for flying outside, internal RF for flying inside, and both off for using the sim? I'm totally new to the FPV system as I have been flying dji mavic, dji mini and dji enterprise in the past but wanted to challenge myself. This looks like there is a lot to learn.
@the-happy-RC-flyer3 ай бұрын
@@stevemartin2274 Hi Steve if you want to control your model either inside or outside you will need the transmitter on to bind to the model’s receiver. The internal transmitter is inside your radio this can be either a multi protocol module or an ExpressLRS same for an external module which is plugged into the back of your radio.

@@the-happy-RC-flyer Thanks for your reply. I have the Radiomaster Boxer 4 in 1 so I think it's all contained within the radio. I think it will be a case of working out what I need as I progress and eventually buy a Tiny Whoop and then an upgrade in size and speed.

You turn the Internal module under Model, Setup. Go down to Internal RF Mode Off. If you turn the module on you will be able to select the protocol you want to use.

I just got my RM Boxer out of the box done nothing but put the battery in and boot it up and play around with settings (did not change anything but did make a model) now I'm on a tight budget and would chose the Boxer ELRS as my starter Reciver for FPV now all I want to do Is set it up for Liftoff right now, besides following this guide should their be any kind of updates or drivers? I'm only looking to use this right now unit I have my first build done in about a month but would like to use this on lift off coming from DJI Avata 2 controller It was plug and play basically with DJI FPV Controller 3 some reason when I plug in my boxer and I use the PreSet model FPV drone it only picks up a few channels (Example I can only Pitch back or Yaw left or right thats about it). will this guide help me or am I missing something from Radiomaster website for updates>?

Hi, you should not need to update your drivers on your radio it should work out of the box with Liftoff. Within Liftoff you can map the channels if you need to make changes. Check this video at 2 minutes for the calibration process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5ayaX6pbpqrr6csi=pjyST6QOsMkuB2Co

Hey Bill, how's it going? Do you know what would be a good radio for TRYP FFV? Thanks!
@the-happy-RC-flyer8 ай бұрын
Hi Mike, any radio really. You need to buy a radio which suits you. The TX16S is great for fixed wing and drones but is a larger format. The Zorro is compact but great for both disciplines. The Pocket is very compact and does have the advantage over the Zorro because it uses 18650 batteries which gives you a long run time than the Zorro. Personal preference will come into play on the ergonomics of the radio and the feel you prefer. I must say I like the Zorro which I have a 4 in 1 with an ExpressLRS module attached on the back so have best of both worlds, this for drones. More complex fixed wing the TX16S. I hope that helps! Missed out the Boxer would be a great universal medium sized radio for fixed wing and drones.

Hi, you are always ready to help the community so I have another question for you😊. Suddenly my radio master zorro won't arm my quad, all switches are set up correctly but my arm switch switches between horizon and angle. I reset my quad multiple times and reset my switches multiple times but it won't help. Do you have any suggestions about what I can do and what may be the problem?
@the-happy-RC-flyer Жыл бұрын
This sounds strange, could I clarify that the drone was arming but the radio was turned off then when turned back on without changing any settings and now your allocated armed switch has become your mode switch? Did you by chance update your radios firmware? If you did you could have selected the incorrect radio.
