Now we just need a good ELRS pistol grip radio for these. I have been waiting for years for Crossfire or another good radio system to do it and ELRS looks ready for it!

Boom.. nailed it.. This is exactly the reason I am using a Radiolink RC6GS v3 radio, which is not bad at all, but if Radiomaster came up with one, I am sure it would be great as well.

Great detailed overview, Ian! Note that there's also a VSpd telemetry sensor but you'll need to upgrade EdgeTX to 2.8.x for it to show up.

The ER6 will work perfectly for the ELRS Car remotes I make. Can you confirm the RX and TX on that receiver can output all available channels via CRSF, to an FC, whilst still having the PWM channels available on the pins? It would make switching from crossfire to ELRS much easier for car guys, as currently a crossfire nano RX can output crsf on pins 1 and 2 and then channels 1 and 2 on pins 3 and 4. This is mandatory for many FPV RC cars if you'd want OSD on a digital system. Thanks Ian!

Interesting receivers. I would like rc car receivers with gyro etc and a pistol grip type radio and I can dream with EdgeTX.

I'm not sure about gyro... that might happen in the future through a different project if someone is interested enough. However, I can say "watch this space" re: pistol grip type radio... plans are afoot... and I don't mean the QX7 frankenmods I've seen online 😆

We can't change the mapping of the 5th own channel ? It's sick with the 2 way channel for selling which is useless for gliders. On previous pwm elrs 5 channels rx there was an option to map channel 11 or 12 into the 5th pwm

Hello, I have tried some models and I am very impressed. Build quality is all around superb and its functionalities are what current day rc plane pilots want. I do anyway. However part of my soul is still sold to Spektrum. Is it thinkable to flash DSMX receiver firmware on these receivers? I would love to use them for all my planes!
@typxxilps Жыл бұрын
Finally they are there but I think I have missed a key point in the years before: Can I really use more than 4 channels / servos if I use a flight controller like the matek F405 Wing or the newer Speedy Bee Wing FC without having one of these new pwm receivers ? And if how can I use thouse ? I have pan and tilt plattforms on my planes and therefore needed 6 channels where Radiomaster had been only offering 5 pwm. At the end I bought a RM elrs set with a new radio and then gave more or less up when I had thought there would be no change to get the fpv plattform running. And I also always tend to wonder that for turning on the 5th pwm servo I had to do a workaround where I could read 5 - 8 channel which always had confused me. Still wondering if I really would need those huge receivers (do not need the variometer) or if I simply can take that small rm elrs receiver (which I had thought they were only designed for low latency drones) and connect it to the FC to get along. I had no time to play around and had not thought that it could work out. thx a lot
@SpringHaIo Жыл бұрын
If you're using a flight controller, you only need a basic non-PWM ELRS receiver like is used for drones. All of the PWM signals for your servos will come from the flight controller board, and you set up the channel outputs through the INAV mixer interface
@MCsCreations Жыл бұрын
Fantastic review, Ian! Thanks! 😃 What I'm confused about are the receivers without the 5v rail... How the heck do they get power? 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
@bugsy742 Жыл бұрын
Good question 👍🤝
@BrainDeadEngineering Жыл бұрын
You slide out the power wires from the JR servo connectors . You install them all into JR connectors and plug them into a power header fuel by a BEC . Lipo to BEC , BEC to power strip/header . 😊
@MCsCreations Жыл бұрын
@@BrainDeadEngineering Right, but I'm asking about the receiver itself, not the servos.
@BrainDeadEngineering Жыл бұрын
@@MCsCreations I's sorry. It shows to have JR + pins on RX so I guess you would add power to one on them through the JR connectors .

I would have expected a ground receiver to have an accelerometer for turn stabilization. With the battery sense pad under th heat shrink, it seems like they should include extra heat shrink to reapply after wiring the battery sense.

Missing one sensor reading. You showed de altitude sensor. But for gliding we need the vario sensor in Vm/s (vertical speed per seconde. Al the other reciever out there with vario function have both. Is realy missing ?? Or else we need an update from radiomaster

Ian is running an old version of EdgeTX. There is a VSpd sensor, but only on EdgeTX 2.8.x or greater.
