Awesome review! I've got mine on pre-order already! By the way, that red wire is not an antenna it's for the battery

Yep, I was wrong. The red wire is the voltage telemetry wire. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks for the great review. The main issue for some will be the steep learning curve. I run a QX7 and TX16s so do know my way around basic programming. I carpet race indoor 1/10 and 1/12th cars and think that a throttle to steering mix would be useful so that steering throws reduce the higher the throttle is. Only required going forward though. Reduced rates and heaps of expo are a compromise. There are some videos on this but only using Companion which isn't yet available for MT12 AFAIK. Fancy doing a "How to" video?

That's an idea.

Excellent video! Thank you! Would love for you to make a video on how to flash both the controller and receiver and set them up with a binding phrase. I imagine you would use the ExpressLRS configurator and connect the receiver via wifi to flash it with a binding phrase? Then you would flash the controller with the same binding phrase via USB? I just ordered this through Radiomaster. Should be arriving next week. I am going to attach another servo on the fourth channel to rotate my FPV camera with the small joystick!

Thank you for this review. I have been waiting for this for some time now. I was about ready to start ripping apart an old Taranis QX7 to fit to a pistol grip radio but I like this option better. I do have one question though, do you know if Radiomaster has anything in the works in regards to a gyro equipped receiver to allow those of us who use steering assist such as Traxxas's TSM or Arrma AVS?

Thanks for the feedback, it's always appreciated. I don't about gyro supported receivers, but if I hear anything I'll post it here. Thanks for watching.

Where in the UK will this be available from?
@WhirlyBloke Жыл бұрын
No idea yet, but I'll post it when I know. I order direct from RadioMaster and the service to the UK is good.

Your intro makes no sense, why compare RTR radio to aftermarket one? Ofc aftermarket one will be better, pretty much nothing on the aftermarket atm would not be an upgrade over RTR radio, MT12 no different there. Compare it to similar car radios in price bracket, offerings from Futaba/Flysky or even Spectrum; 4px, gt7 or even gt5. All of them can re-bind the extra buttons for additional functions, range is not an issue with RC cars either as you won't be driving much further than football field away so the constant argument I hear on all reviews of MT12 that it can go for miles makes little sense. Putting it head on against other comparable radios is what most yt reviews of MT12 kinda miss and omit.

I've heard it doesn't program for surface very well yet so I'll pass on this rubbish.

I don't know where you heard that from, but I'd have to disagree. EdgeTX is mighty powerful and extremely programmable so I can't see where the issues might be, other than misunderstandings. And the MT12 is specifically designed as an excellent RC surface controller. I've been using it for nearly 2 months and haven't found any issues even with my very complex RC camera car with a head tracker. Thanks for the feedback.
