To avoid adverse yaw tendencies (yaw in opposite direction of a roll) - the differential aileron function is very useful for my gliders. Many thanks for another great video !

Thanks for your presentation. They're to the point and factual. Too many others seem to croon accolades of admiration over the program without sticking to the point, mentioning some other facet of it while stating any clarification will follow on another date serving only as a distraction. To me their simple, "How too" gets decorated with an annoying verbose desire to impress, or make cyber chums. You're presentations are the easiest to follow and don't sound like an infomercial. The clearest and best. Thank you.

Bill, liked your video very much. It occurred to me that setting up a variable GV on a knob like (S1) would be a good way to change the amount of Differential while flying saying a series of axial rolls. Then when you land look at what knob position gave you the best rolls - then make that corresponding number permanent. Or are the times that you don't want any differential then you dont want it permanent.

Hi Larry, that’s a good idea but you would not set a GV for S1 you would leave as is so you have full adjustment for your trial period. I would say you would find a optimal differential and set it permanently. I would be concerned I accidentally move the rotor switch and change the setting by mistake but for testing a great idea.

Thanks for very informative video, I'm trying to slow down my talon rebel gt on landings due to short landing area. Just wondering if spoilerions or flaperons would be best for this situation? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank again

You are very welcome.I would suggest flaps and mix in down elevator when the flaps are deployed. Experiment by slowly add more flap and try deploying them at altitude so if you stall you have enough time to recover. All planes are different so just add adjustments slowly. Let me know how you get on.

Ok thanks for advise, this plane doesn't have factory flaps its a vtail so it had elevons on wings elevators and rudervators on tail but I might could add flaps I'm not sure but would love to have them, thanks again

Hi Bill At 13:10 in the video you demonstrate the different aileron settings, starting with no differential. Is that a setting you would use on a plane, or is it just for demostration purposes?

Hi Jan, yes I have used aileron differential on models and it does help if I remember correctly I set it up on a switch so for demonstration purposes I could turn it off and have two rates of differential so you could test the two rates when flying. Once happy with the setting you could code the differential in without a switch and have it permanently active.

Am I understand it correctly. That in order to be able to use that aileron differential each aileron have to be controlled by different servo on the separate channel ?
@the-happy-RC-flyer
@the-happy-RC-flyer 3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct. I think you could achieve it mechanically with on servo but it would be very complicated but I have never tried doing that way.

Is it posible to set up aileron diff when there is only a single centre servo i.e Kadet LT 40. I have used your TX methord a couple of times but this would have to be installed mechanicaly. Cheers

@the-happy-RC-flyer 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Colin, no you would need to do it mechanically with one servo.

Is it possible to get differential done with an elevon set up?

@@the-happy-RC-flyerThank you, I would definitely watch the video. Been trying to figure it out and can't find much on info about doing it on the t16s. I have a delta wing style plane that high alphas really well and want to have yaw control using split elevons or differential elevons if that will have the same effect.
