How To: Radiomaster TX16S DSM Tools Install and Update

If you want full access to your Spektrum receiver setup for SAFE and AS3X, you need the DSM Tools for your EdgeTX radio. In this video I'll show you how to install the latest version as well as update your scripts if you have an older version on the Radiomaster TX16S.

Yep, just updated the forward programming on my transmitter, update the rx to as3x plus. Reset the rx and set it all up again.

how did you learn to do all that setup? any vids i can see? trying to fix a carbon z cub that i reset trying to make reverse thrust and somehow i cant use safe now

@One_High_Guy_420 you don't need to reset to get reverse, it's all done in text gen in the smart telemetry Lua

Look through all my Spektrum based videos, I cover quite a lot. Note safe mode setup and the Avian ESC setup use different Lua scripts. Forward programming for safe mode stuff and the DSM Smart RX for the Avian setup.

@@Mikeylikesit1968 well damn. i was told i would need to update the firmware to be able to do it through my tx16s. oh well im learning it all from scratch now haha

You may have needed to update the RX firmware to allow you to make changes to the safe f-modes. The Avian reverse thrust just needs the Lua script. I have a video on adding reverse thrust to the Aeroscout, it shows the process in detail. Search back through the RC Guides playlist or the Aeroscout playlist and you'll find it. The gyro stuff will have to be setup from scratch now, when you do a factory reset it turns it into a normal non gyro receiver until you run through the setup.

I have one other question, so I figured out how to do the flights counter but how the heck do you zero it out.

@@Mikeylikesit1968 Press MDL then PAGE> to GLOBAL VARIABLES then scroll down to GV9. The FM0 value for GV9 is the flight counter the widget uses.
